Since I first played Diablo II, I have focused on one character class and none other, Barbarians. First I was enduldged by their tremendous killing power and ability to stomp through any difficulty and any act almost untouched. For months I played through the game testing and creating all kinds of builds. Then LoD was released and everything I knew was almost vanished and I started my research over, never even giving the two newest classes a chance. Once again I had played through the game with all different types of builds to the point where killing the brothers had lost all of its fun. I was at the point where I was taking the game to a local game shop for trade in value. When I signed on a friend asked me to come PvP with him. I had never had so much fun playing the game up till that point(eventhough I was using a sorc and not barb). This put in question everything I have ever done in the diablo world. For the most part I had just played alone in games somtimes with a select few friends. But now, I had the best reason to play of all, to create the ulitimate PvP machine regarldless if what class it had to be. So for the first time ever my Barbarian loyalty was in question and I created many new characters of all different classes and builds. After I had tried almost every class with every so called best build, I found my self right back where I had started, Barbarians. After that I was basicly back where I had started and had to create many barbs with different builds. Time passed and I had nearly achivied my goal with only a few pieces left to the puzle I had finily found the sword so many people had only dreamed of having, a 286 Etheral Cruel Collosus Sword of Quickness. This sword would have ment nothing without 2 sockets and I was willing to do anything to get them. So I did my self and my most trusted friend on D2 made a game went to lazurk and socketed it I got one. I would have quit right then and there but we used the alt+f4 roll back method and magicly it was unsocketed again and the next time I socketed it would be the last. Few months went buy and then what is known to me as the akara dupe came out which basicly ment any idiot could dupe pritty much anything a billion times in a matter of minutes. Blizzard, with its servers plauged with disgrunted players, hacked items, botters and dupers alike, could no longer sit back and continue the devlopement of its v1.10 patch. They had to take action or there would be no community left for the patch. So they did so. They banned every account that they had any record of botting, duping or unfortunatly for me roll backing. I had lost everything for one mistake that probably to this day I would still have done knowing the concenquences. So I quit. Months passed, my computer had technical probablems and I just had alot going on in life. When I finaly fixed my computer I saw that little Diablo II: Lord of Destruction icon there still so I found the disc and logged on. Much to my suprise it started dling the patch for v1.10 which at the time of my quitting I had been one of the many who said its just never going to happen. Now here I am today and the things that turned me on about barbs just arent there any more. PvP wise they stood a chance vs any character all the time, but now I cant throw cause I need AR and Def skills, so any good sorc can rip me apart, necros are gods, and hammer pallys do rediculus damage that cant be reduced. Though they are still kings of melee, I must retire as a strictly barbarian player. They are not the same class I went through my D2 years playing and I have to move on. I havent decided if this marks the end of my Diablo II career all together or just the end of my Barbarian career. That is still to be decided.........
