Facet in Wiz?

Hi all :howdy:

Im making an CL/FO sorc and i wondered if it was worth it to put a -4/+5 lightning facet in my wizardspike. I plan to use CL alot :)

If it isn´t worth it. What should i put in it then? I have plenty resistance, so a res jewel will be wasted.

If you dont have another weapon like Oculus for example i think the facet would fit nicely in your Wizard Spike.

I have Occu, but i hate the tele thing so much :rant:

I guess i´ll just stick with my Wiz and put a Facet in it.

I'm not really a sorc expert, but won't a +3 eschuta or an Oculos be a lot better, and quite cheap too? Only thing wiz has is lots of fcr (and mana regen and max mana but both eschuta and oculos have +energy), but FO is timered (don't know about CL) so wiz is quite useless. So putting a very nice light facet would be quite a waste imho.

Thats the exact same problem i have, i have all orb, wizspike, eschuta's but i really don't know which one to use...

Fathom just sucks except for it's +% cold dmg...

Wiz spike rules for it's massive res, fcr and mana, but no + skills

Occy is the next best thing i have...but tele mod pisses me off...

Eshcuta's has good + skills, alright mana, but terrible res...

I guess i'd just go with the Occy....sometimes the tele mod is a life saver...

If you need Wiz to reach the next breakpoint (say 105) then by all means use it over occy. Especially if you cant get maxed res without it.

Those who think +3 skills are more important than maxed res and 105 fcr are nuts :P

The mana boost isn't bad either.

The most important fuction of the 105 fcr is fast teleportation anyway.

Wizpike was my 1.09 favorite :) Then 1.10 bankrupted me with its Hotos..

Yea, i think CL´s breakpoint is 78 or something like that. But in need the 105 break for teleport :)

I´ll just switch between Wiz and Eschuta and see what i like best. I can probably get the res from charms.

i have a cl/orb sorc and i use mosers with 2 perfect diamonds and wiz to get maxed resists in hell - i also use an ok resist vipermagi.

Honestly I think its a cheaper way do next...
get eschuta and place facet into it, for resistance get 2-3 15 resist all GC. I "think" 15 resist all charms are cheaper then +skillers and as a CL sorc you need a lot skillers...

I faced the same question just yesterday, I socketed my eschuta with the Facet and kept Wizard Spike and Mosers w 2x Pdiamond on the switch for tele and the bad situations that can arise.
