well I am getting sick of playing on battlenet because everytime I try to do a public andy run or do cows or just lvl some ****** somes in and tries to pk everyone.
The first example today was I was playing as my lvl 16 sorc and I was in a group of about 6 or so people and they were around my lvl and we were making our way to andy and a lvl 22 or 23 assy enters the game and wants a tp. So as being the nice guy I am I make the tp. and as soon as I do she goes hostile and enters my tp and kills all of the people in my party and she just guarded our bodies so if we tried to get our stuff back she would just kill us all. Finally a lvl 26 barb came in and took care of her..
The second example today was I joined a cow game and was waiting for someone to make the protal and most of us were under lvl 19 and a lvl 22 barb joined in and talked smack to all of us and went hostile with me and he tore into me for not fighting him *note I was a lvl 16 sorc with no real items* and he was just being a pain in the butt and making fun of people and then he started to pk people who went out to lvl. So I left the game and came back with my lvl 54 skelliemancer and then I went out and made my army of 10 skellies, 4 mangers and 5 revies then I went hostile against him and started to call him out.
After I did that he start to complain that I was cheap and not fair and then I said, "Oh this isnt fair, you challanged my lvl 15 sorc and you sure as hell thought that was fair." then he called me a few names and left...
Nice lies there. But u left a loophole. when someone hostile u , he can't enter ur tp. So i figure u make this up for fun :lol:

Your first story doesnt make sense. If someone hostiles you, they cant use your TP. They also couldnt have come through a WP because you are unable to use waypoints for a few seconds after you hostile. So, you should have had enough time to react, and not have been killed.
And your second story i agree, it is very annoying for people to come in and disrupt your cow/baal run games, but i guess it is part of the game and some people enjoy that side of it. He thought he was so cool until your necro came in :lol:

though your story arent that true (the portal thingy), i agree that i really hate pple that comes in to hostile everyone and begans mass killing and gold taking. Most times these high level chars have a friend in the game, and it's this friend that reveal the locations of the rest.
i've also tried many times to get another char in, but the game will be full for any revenge to take place...

Well i would do it just to get my gold back if they're gold stealers.
There are genuine PKers who enjoy "the hunt", but these aren't them, they're generally ppl who are looking for fast ways to get gambling gold.
Sure gold isn't that big a deal... but I just don't like losing it that way.
true enough, if gold is what they want, they should enter a public pk game and grab gold. instead of killing low-level chars to get the gold...

1.10 has taught me a number of things,most of all since I play hardcore,it's taught me about the cheap Pk tricks that are out there. It's possible that the assassin went through the TP, set out some traps,went back to town and then went hostile. Read the hardcore forums on Dii.net,Pking is part of the game like it or not and Battle.net encourages this behaviour. Long and short of it is,if you play softcore,then it's an annoyance,deal with it or play private/passworded games,or play single player.
well I am not making it but maybe I got my chain of events screwed up but the assy went hostile and whiped out the party that I was in and he camped our bodies.
Why would I make that up??? We were in the catacombs lvl 2 so he could have taken the wp instead of my tp but this person did as for a tp to where we were though. I didnt actually see the assy come through my tp since I was killing some baddies at the time.
You can go through waypoints after hostiling, there is a bug to do it. Not sure about TP's.

If you really want to take action against these PK'ers, make a PKK (PK Killer). Basically, it's a low level character, lvl 20 or under, who can have killing power of a level 30-50 character. For this you will need some very nice equipment, build, and tactics, so if you don't have those, don't even try. But an effective PKK can take care of this little problem of yours, without the PK'ers complaining about you being a much higher level than they are.
asking for a portal is just a way to know where your locations are, so that he can go in for the kill...

My friends make a kikasin (kicking assassin) and he slaughtered everyone in a PvP game, all of which were roughly around the 50's. If you want a PKK char, I would suggest a kikasin

Of coarse the best characters are assassins for a PKK. They do the most damage, the quickest out of most other characters.
Also with your story you said you were level 16, then 19, then 16 again, then back down to 15?? How is this possible :scratch:

I was 15 or 16 when it happened. I forget, I have lvled up about 5 times since then..

I believe there is a method to taking a tp and hostiling at the same time, you have to be damn fast though. i heard of it once, and i might be confusin it with the waypoint thing mentioned before but anyway.... you just do the two at just about the same time. i think it only works with ur own tp tho.
on a much lighter note, one time i was in a norm cow game and some moron brings a high lvl char to pk us, and he hostiles everyone only to realize he can no longer take the red tp to the cow lvl....I get a kick outta that one every time i think of it. stupid pkers...lol. Legit pkers are simple to avoid, just go to town. its the ones that use bugs and exploits that you have to worry bout.
personally diabolico i think barbs are best low lvl, because they can tank most other low lvl chars that arent built for pvp. higher lvls, ive seen necromancers work well. a melee char cant pk at all at that point.

I don't know what kind of PK'ers you're talking about, but most of time (all of the time, as far as I know, actually), PK'ers are of low levels, usually around lvl 9 to 20ish. Obviously, a barb can't wear a BotD or an Enigma at a low level like that.
Maybe you're talkng about HC mode, of which I know nothing about, but it's obvious that the thread-starter is talking about SC, since he could come back to life after he was killed by the PK'er.
Diabolicol he meant high lvl chars... the guy said that necs at high lvls do a lot of dmg and that melee chars suck at pking at high lvls. He was saying a high lvl barb can carry enigma/botd and own. i hope that explains it.

IMHO the "best" way to steal gold is to take one of your very low lvl chars, perhaps a mule, into a public game. They can't hostile you, so all you have to do is stand around and steal any gold that drops. I have never done this, but I have seen it done. It is a sure fire way to piss people off.
Before you flame me please note that I sad the best way to STEAL. Sure, this is tricky, nasty and dishonest, but if you plan on stealing you are already tricky nasty and dishonest.

Okay, let me rephrase what I said before...
In my opinion, assasssins are the fastest and most efficient characters for low level PK'ing. BoS helps immensely in getting quickly to your target and killing him/her before he or she could press Esc and exit the game or go to town. Besides that, you don't really need too much good equipment, and the skill/stat point allocations are not very hard to decide.
Obviously, I'm ONLY talking about PK'ing... dueling is a whole different issue, since you don't have to run after your enemy most of the time.
I know that every character can be equal in PK'ing, given the right equipment (I'm not just talking about expensive equipment.) and build, but if I would ever like to make a PK'er or PKK, I wouldn't even hesitate to choose the assassin.

well, if you says it's a level 9 char, i dont think he can hold a lot of gold. So, it's not actually, some chars can drop 100k of gold when they drop... so it's better to have a high level chars to do the picking up (stealing) of gold...

2) tele wind druid
3) foh pala
maybe 4) blizzard sor (havent seen)

oh, there's something call potions, especially full revenation potions dropped by chars they killed. So they can actually stay out of town till they are unable to hold more gold. ^ ^
an effiecient cheap lld anti pk could be a charger, get a hell rush and equip with
4 socket armour
3 socket helm
4 socket shield
deaths belt
cow king boots
life charms
bloodfist/deaths gloves
anything else you like really
best weapon you can get for your lv - the lower the level u are the weapon with the most sockets is usually the best
socket your gear with max jewels and prubies for life in you armour
this is one alternative as pointed out there are lots of characters and variants you can use that are effective at low lvls. do some research and anti pk those lvl 50s with a lvl 18 with relative ease. after a while you will be hoping some lame unprepared lvl 50 enters your game and hosts you....

~A_S_GI am not sure if I believe his story as well, but please don't make things up just to get a free ride on the flamewagon while it's already burning. Read his post again, and you will see what I mean. He said 16 all the way (he was talking about players under level 19), except at the end of his post, but hey, the difference between level 16 and 15 is not big. It's the same as saying that you're level 40 when you are in fact 41 - I don't think that's supposed to be counted as a lie.
Let's cut Dr G some slack. His story could be true, for all that matters. The assassin probably made her way there through some other means; maybe they were playing close to a waypoint, maybe she used maphack, maybe it was a combination of this all. Not knowing that a PK could not enter that tp, Dr G probably assumed that the PK-er did come through it. No need to be so harsh on him.
Word of advice though: if someone asks for a tp before asking for a party, there's a pretty big chance he or she just wants your location to PK you. If someone does, try to invite him for a party first before you throw the tp.
Hehehe, the real thing is that for every build out there there is an effective counter build. One of the most effective builds I have amde so far is a Jabberzon. 5.5 frame attack, uninterruptable, 75% blocking and 40-50% dodge at level 18 make her practically unhittable even without high defense, extremely fast and deadly.
Equip with a twitch with a +15 to max jewel, 3 socket mask +15 to mask jewels, 3 socket shield +15 to max jewels and a nice war jav or throwing spear (eth war javs can get up to 120 damage at that point if you have the perfect ones), death sash+gloves, Cow King Boots, Angelic rings+amulet and you have one lethal pk and pkk. She forces anything into blocklock, has a 15% chance to be hit herself (after AR) and if you have a full complement of +life charms she will also end up with 700+ life.
My two level 18 javazons were extremely succesfull in killing pk-ers in hardcore. I nailed more than 80 with them together.

Actually since this post I ran into her about 3 times or so. The last time she came in already to pk us but there were too many in our group *we were doing an andy run* She did kill one of us but she tped back to the town and said something like, "Its been fun but there are too many of you to have any fun." then she left..
