Don't drop Quest Items.....

I just learned that I'm still a newcomer.(noob,newb) I was transfering some things between accounts. I had just gotten through Hell act 2 staff gathering. My inventory was full and I needed to move some gear around. I had the full staff on me, and needed to dropped it to clean up. When I wanted to pick it up, it wouldn't let me. I guess because the quest was complete in normal. So, I had to do the gathering again!
WELL, I learned a valuable lesson. NEVER drop quest items....
HOPE this helps someone else from not finding out the hard way!

Yup, I had to learn that the hard way too. Skellimancer in the Maggot Lair is tedious, to say the least.

I forget what I was doing, but the Horadric Staff in my inventory had its name turn red. I then could not use it to open the tomb. I know I collected the pieces with that character, and yet it didn't work. Anyone heard of that?

if the staff was from a differnt difficlty it only works in that one. ie. u got the staff in normal, and were trying to use in nm or hell.
