stat point allocation .... not basic

I know most people on forums continuingly say:

min str for gear
dex for max block
rest in life

However i have noticed that some of the better duelers in some classes go for different routes like titan builds or maybe a mix between life or str or some other combination .... are titans still viable for a barbs b/c i know titan shapeshifting druids w/ good gear are the best melee's .... for the most part.
This is pvp and pvm btw.

Titans lost a lot of their edge when leech was nerfed, so now you actually need life to survive in duels. You can try whatever you like, but the best barb dueler I know, l2aider, went min str/dex block/rest in vit. He convinced me to do it, and I've never looked back. Screw the paltry damage boost; I have 81 base str, 265 with items, hitting for 7.8k damage without the merc and holding just over 6,000 hp.

thanks a lot for the reply ... do you think it would be to hard to hit 4-5k life w/ zero vit. ?

Yes, I think with 0 vit you won't get more than around 2-3k or so, and that;s if you have godly gear. I have 367 vit, +100 from items, and then 39 vita charms, BK ring, and Enigma, bringing me to something like 6018 (I can't check from this comp). Take out that 342 or so vit, and you're losing right around 3,000+ life, depending on how high your BO is.

wat type of weapon u r using to make the 7.8k dam? 2 hand or 1 hand?

408% botd berserker, with fine/vita charms and ed jewels in the helm/shield.
