I read the 1.10 faq, but I`m still a bit confused with this damage delay thing. So:
1. What exactly happens when I release Cot on a given monster, is it damaged only by lightning (or other single charge), or by all 3 charges? If by 3 charges, do all bolts hit him (I don`t believe, but would be fun), or only 1 of them?
2. How fast is 4 frames? I know it sounds stupid, but I`m curious at what distance bolts start to make damage (I would say, that it`s within nova`s range, but I`m unsure).
From what I could tell is that all bolts are released from the monster you hit. Thus this makes sure none of the bolts actually hit the monster you release on. As for the nova part , it's "created" from the monster you release on too , but it's hard to tell wether it does dmg to the monster you release on too.
The good part is that all 3 charges are released if you have 3 charges. So against groups of monsters CoT is still very effective.

I can't say for sure, but it appears to me that both the 1st and 2nd charges affect the target. The reason I think this is because of it's effectiveness vs. PI's--it seems like there is a different lethality between one and two charges on the release target. I've also asked some knoledgable people, and the one educated guess I got matched my observations. Still, I'm not completely certain, and I'm hoping to get somebody to make a mod test.
Like the FAQ says, because of the 4-frame NextDelay (4/25 of a second) victims of the Nova don't get hit by the bolts under normal circumstances. But because the bolts travel fairly slowly, I have observed Fleeing monsters get hit by both affects. I think this might work as well with KB, but I haven't tried it yet myself. I have an idea for a CoT/Dtail build that might be able to take advantage of this. :)

Well, I tested it myself in pseudo-PvP, and I'm certain that CoT applies both the first and second charges to the release target.

Thanks!
I have an impression that delay of 4 frames runs out before bolts reach nova`s range, ie: monsters can be damaged by both nova, and bolts. If knockback from DTail pushed monsters on a distance, where both nova and bolts can be effective, it would be great, but I`m still unsure.

That's what I think too. Let us know what happens if you try it. :)
