Ok, this is my first post, so here goes...

I have a blizz sorc and Im currently trying to collect the tal rash set. Any ideas on how difficult it is to get it all, especially the armor?

This has probably been covered before, but I couldn't find it in any of the threads.

It isn't easy by any means, The math alone will spin your head when you try to calculate the odds. I found the belt, the ammy and then 3 helms. I traded for the armor last night and hope to meet up with the person to finalize my trade for the orb later today. I have to say that if you can't trade for the stuff, don't plan on logging off anytime soon.

In my experience, the amulet is actually the hardest to acquire. Following that, the armor and then the 3 other pieces. On USWest, the helm, orb, and belt (even a decent MF %) can be traded for PGems or low level sets. The armor is valued around an um and the ammy is around an ist or more. If you plan on finding it, the helm, orb, and belt drop fairly frequently if you run hell meph. The armor is a little harder to find, but still doable if you play in hell a lot. The ammy, despite being dropped even on Diablo normal, has been the hardest to find in my experience.

actually..only the armor and ammy is harder to get..as we all know the Death Mask and Mesh Belt drops very often..the Swirling crystal is not THAT tough to find..i would say the probability is bout 1 ammy to 3 orbs for me :innocent:

So far I've only found the belt, hmm, 'twill be a long way yet.

I have tons and tons of perfect gems and skulls though, think anyone might consider trading the armor or the amulet for, say, 6 perfect skulls and 6 perfect gems? Or should it be even more than that?

This might give you some scope on it, I am sure others will be able to help here also. I traded 40 pgems, a LUM and a KO rune for tals armor, marrowwalk and the arm of king leoric. Out of those three items the armor is what drove the cost up.

I am trading 15pgems for the orb tonight. I expect what you are listing would probably be enough for any of the three more common pieces (helm, belt and orb) but the armor and ammy will be significantly higher.

If you are playing on ladder it will always be 1.10.
Seriously i have not seen anybody trying to tade 1.09 Tal's armor or Amulet.
From what i remember the only difference is that 1.10 gets the Aura with full set and some of the more important partial set bonuses have been added in 1.10, like -15% fire/lightning resistance on orb and some additional FCR.....

i got a VERY good deal on my orb last time..it was before i started to MF and i wanted a orb so much..i traded a Nagel ring 27% for a perfect orb :lol:

its more a matter of wat the person and u need..u got something he wants he got something u want, the absolute value of the items dun really matter that much :thumbsup:

if you have a decent (>um) rune, you might be able to get the entire set for it.

i've never found the armor, but i've been involved in trades for around 4 of them. i found 1 ammy, 2 orbs, 10-15 belts, and so many masks i stopped counting.

You should find the mask eventually so don't spend your resources to trade for it unelss it the last item you need.

uswest ladder tal armor=um/pul ammy=um/mal/ist rest=15-25 pgems...if that helps..this is all medium stats btw

Well, I didn't read all the posts... but I do Hell screwed Andy (Check the bug forum for info... don't ask me) and I find set ammies like mad. So I have found 3 Tals Ammies so far. Like a billion heads, like 2 belts, no orb, no armor. I say the Armor is the hardest part.

And on USEastLad, My Paladin did forge and got Gul, chucked Gul at someone till magically a Tals armor and ammy dropped out. :uhhuh:

OK, I haven't played DII in about 3 months. But I'm confused by some of these responses. 40 PGems for Tal's armor? Something above an Um for Tal's armor? Did the price of Tal's armor drop like a stone in the last 3 months? Or are these softcore only prices?

3 months ago, tal's armor was untradeable for me and I have a bunch of high level runes, most every item hell meph can drop etc. No one would even listen to my offers in the trade channel.

What about IK armor...is that worth a cracked sash now?

Hardcore, Ladder, East, if that makes a difference.

Im my experience it isnt hard to get the mask, belt, orb at all. People laughed at me sometimes when i tried to ask for a soj for all 3 of them (USEast). The ammy and armor are a different story. The Armor is ABSOLUTELY mcuh harder to get, its worth about a 290 or something equivalent. The ammy is a little easier and can be traded for a gul rune maybe + a little more or something like that. Depends on wut realm u r on.

how do we differentiate between .10 and .09 items for tals set? and to get ALL the set bonuses, we NEED to get the 1.10 tems, right?

i found the ammy from eldrich, if that helps anyone. when you're doing baal runs, just head up for a quick kill on elrich and shenk. never know what might drop...
btw, are PUL runes worth anything (EAST, NL)? think two of them might get me a piece of tals set?
