I got really bored of Mfing on my Sorc, and needed a new low equipment cost project. So I started a Skelemancer. Hes 50 somethin, 20 Skele, 20 Skele mastery, 1 in all the pre req's. My question to you is, I already have +9 to summoning, +7 to all skills w/o my +2 helm and other decent gear ill be putting on. I have no interest at all in skele mages, and Revive is enough with +9. I will have 10 + 7 CE in a few lvls, and I have enough amp damagew with +'s.
What should i invest my other 40 some odd points i have coming up. I plan on putting him in Full out MF gear. Dual isted baba, rhyme, etc. So what skills should i be upping in the mean time to help me down the road.
Thanks
With my skellymancer, level 82 currently I maxxed skellies, skellie mastery then Corpse Explosion. I think that once you have that done you can go wherever you want. Put more points into you favorite curses etc. Personally I went with mages for the alternate damage types and also because that makes 10 - 11 more things on the screen for the baddies to target. I usually don't even have to move away from attackers in Hell-Pit. Max CE though. It is really the only skill that gives a skellymancer a respectable killing speed in hell, and as you are finding, we don't have much else to spend points on.

Yea, already with my might merc the skele's are doing good. I was thinking about using a beast weapon for fun... well see

Personally, while I agree the Fanat aura would be nice, the other skills/stats just don't do it for me. I may be stupid, but does the Prevent Monster Heal work if you don't really attack?
Anyway, I'd much rather go with a Call to Arms weapon. Fanat does increase the damage, but you've got many more strong points on the CtA runeword. The extra MF, +2 skills, as well as the option of increasing your skills and life makes for an awesome wep.
Just my opinion though... :buddies:
*Ugh, re-read your message missed the part about the Merc....carry on. Thought it odd you were going to use a runeword and not King Leoric + Homunoc.

The skeletons get extra damage, attack speed and AR. That means they attack more often, hit more often and do more damage. I would keep CtA on switch and just use the BO and BC.

If you're going full mf, it's always nice to have your back-up bone armor to serve as a one hit buffer (doesn't have to be really strong to save your life, just enough to give you time to back off). Otherwise, yeah agree with maxing ce n such. Enjoy.

I would keep CtA on switch and just use the BO and BC.AR bonus is the really important part of Fanat...While attack speed increases they do not seem to attack more often as they like to pause between swings. If they would just swing away constantly it would be much more important. Fanatacism is a very good aura and you should use it. Now there is a way to get it with out equiping Beast but it involves using an IG and if he dies you will be very sad (and he will unless you are very good or have a really strong build). I will show how strong he can be in a little bit (either by editing this post or posting a new response). Use at your own risk (I have never done this but have been practising keeping my golem alive (have done so for 5 days now) in anticipation of trying this in HC. A IG with 20 in Mastery & +27 in total summoning skills would have 10241 life (more with HotO or Wisp Projector -1 to skills for using Wisp Projector), I think this can be kept alive if you are careful after all I have kept a golem with only 5000 life for several days).

You can keep him alive until BNet screws up. Painful way to loose a Beast.

I play Single Player so that won't be a problem...

So if you make an IG out of Exile, would you get the Defiance aura?
