Ive got a Pure Lit Sorc, not meant for PvP, with Lit, Chain Lit and Lit Mast maxed. I have base dex, 95 str, 10 from war travs and 2 from shako so I can use 106 str troll nest rhyme and skulders. Rest is in vit, save for about 30 in energy. What should I do now? Should I max charged bolt and nova to synergize? my damage doesnt seem good enough in hell, and this sorc is meant for pindle/Eldritch. Should I socket occ and lidless with facets? And I also saw a mf calculator a while back, which showed you your chances of uniques and sets and the like based on your mf, anyone have the link for that? Thanks.

yes, synergize cl.

sockets should always be ist/ptopz, unless you are going for kills on the switch. in which case, put in defensive sockets or facets.

If your killing power is good enough socket with IST and PTopaz, otherwise Facets will do nicely.
Maximise Charged Bolt before Nova, since Charged Bolt can come in very handy to use besides Lightning and Chain Lightning.

Alright, got CB maxed out, gonna start on Nova. Level 75 now, been spending most of my time doing Pindle instead of leveling. Havent found anything yet, but then again I've only done about 100. With my kill equip on, I'm getting 12k damage max on lightning, only 7k with my mf equip. Quick question... Should I spend the dexterity to use an Ali Baba as my mf switch, or just keep pumping vitality, which is about 250 before equip, 280 after. It still doesnt seem like I have much life at all. Gull is workin fine for me, and I plan on throwin some Ist's somewhere. I think Ill get a 4 socketed shield, a troll nest most likely, since I have just enough str for it. That would put me around 600 mf, no charms. Am I going to be able to kill Meph ever? Ive tried a few times, and he wipes me out. I've tried teleing in real close and static-ing him to about 1/3, and just straight Lightning, moat trick and all, but he gets me good, cause its kinda hard to hit him from the moat. What to do, what to do...

EDIT - Using Gull as mf weapon by the way, should I spend an ist in it, or ya think around a 15 mf jewel will do? Or should I go the Baba route?

I'd go the Ali baba route...

The chance for having an extra 60% MF(Two Ists) on it plus a bit higher damage is what makes it worth it.

The Gull would be fine, but if you think you can come by a second Ist it would be better for you to put them in the Baba. Even at clvl 85, and two Ists you'd be getting 145%MF.

probably too late now, but what helps:

75% blocking
40-50% phys damage reduce
lightning, cold, fire absorb
63-105% fcr
75% all resists

i get everything above and @350% mf, with only gheeds for an mf charm. i usually switch my resist armor for wealth during meph runs, so 450%. with my resist armor, i can tank meph.

once you max out cb, that might be more effective in killing meph.

With maxed CB you can kill meph, but you also need to be able to tank him, since will want to stand right upfront to Meph so the most amount of bolts will hit him 8)
Killing Meph with Lightning or Chain Lightning is a looooong job to do :/

You can kill Hell Meph with a pure Lightning Sorc, but it will take alot more time than by either using a Blizzard Sorc, or also a Meteorb for example. Those 2 builds do nicely against Meph in Helle. Blizzard is the faster killer.

i was wondering why people use troll nests rather than tower shields...tower shields have the highest chance to block (44% base for sorceresses), no? also, troll nests can get a max of only 3 sockets and require 106 strength; a tower only needs 75.

if you want a 4 socket shield to ist, i'd recommend a monarch. be prepared to nock up your strength however, because even though the monarch is the lowest-strength-requiring-4-socket-shield, the strength requirement for it is still relatively high (156).

What shield would need the least dex for a chance to block (uniques, sets, magic, doesnt matter). And How much dex would I need?

i do hell pindle and i own him only done 30 runs so far and best item is mavina armor i should get better though after a while, i have 450 mf in total unless im ******** and cant add up i am lvl 85 so my skullders does 106% mf excluding the p topaz.

i use a sanctuary'd tower shield. max block took about 200dex @ lvl 85. if anyone has a better shield to use to get max block with less dex, please give me a heads up.

200 dex is goddamn expensive.
