Is level 22 too young to kill Duriel cuz I'm getting owned

My merc dies in one hit and i die in about 2, considering I cant get in to recover my corpse from my first death to get my items off of it. i die too quick. the jerk freezes me and thats about it.

I have 161 life and and trying to do a static field/fireball or glacial spike combo but its not doing too well. I'm getting aggravated.

just get a shield and go melee on his ***. leech helps too

Probably the best thing to do at low lvls.

I am so ticked off right now i cant even describe, so i will just stop.

I think your major problem is that you have too low hp for lvl 22. Anyways do you have blaze? It's the best duriel killer, even though you can't use a merc with it.

Hmm well I thought I actually messed up because some guides I'v been reading have been saying dump most into str in the beginning and melee..

if anyone else ends up with the same problem, why hasn't anyone mentioned thawing potions? they temporarily up your cold resists and duriel does alot of cold damage

Just join a pubby game - Im always a cold sorcy so this is the easiest way to get past him - let some dumb barb or pally do your dirty work .

Some helpful hints:

1. Use thawing potions for better cold resists
2. Use shield
3. If you expect to die a lot, drop all your money on ground next to stash
4. Revive your merc
5. Use healing potions
6. Use Static Field
7. Blaze if good

Just open a pubby game called "Just Duriel" or "Kill Duriel" and people will quickly join to help you. Duriel is the meanest bugger in the whole game, because he's so strong and you want to tackle him at a low level to advance, so there are many people who have the same problem. In pubby games Duriel isn't so hard, he just merely takes time to kill.

Yea, like a couple others said, let a barb take a majority of the hits and stand away and cast static/other spells. Since its normal, most barbs should have a decent amount of life/def so they can survive.

I've always had problems with Duriel with a sorc. The only way I have ever successfully killed him is to use Blaze and run and run and run.....

i smashed him yet again with 1 pt static. took about 15-30 seconds. lvl 18.

i dunno why you guys are having so much trouble.

took down all the bosses too, finished norm solo (up to ancients for baalruns) in under 2 hours. (saves a lot of time now that i know at lvl 24 you don't get jack for xp.) diablo killed me once, as the pink lightning hit me when it shouldn't have.
