View Full Version : Help with my skellimancer

Right, my lvl 74 skelliemancer has:

lvl 20 skeleton warriors
lvl 20 mages
lvl 20 mastery
1 revive

All added to by gear (+5)

And the rest of the skills saved. I use amp damg as my curse and have no other points in curses. Im in hell act 3 npw and do Ok at killing things once i have my army, but thats my problem, I need some way to kill things to get the corpses in the first place!

It seems like the options available are posion nova, or bone spirit. (You need corpses for corpse explosion!). Which one of these would best suit my necro? I was thinking posion nova? Are there any skills I haven't put points on that I should have?

Take your Merc to the Bloodmoore...once you get to Pindleskin you can raise his army before it gets up. Honestly your merc should be able to kill things in the Spider Forest of Act III for building your army (Don't enter Act IV without an army or you will probably die).

Get Summon Resist if you don't have it. Decrepify is an excellent curse. Dim Vision works wonders on Gloams...Attract can take the heat off the army and let you use AD instead of Decrep in some situations. LR can help you if you decide to get Poison damage. Terror can push enemies back into a room allowing your minions to flood into it.

forget poison you wont be able to max all of the syn's and wont be worth it. Max CE instead because once you get to a pack amp then first corpse hit the ce and watch them drop.

Only one choice really. Might Aura. Getting that first corpse can take too long without it.

Definitely get the Act2 Might (NM Offensive if I remember correctly) as well as placing some points into Corpse Explosion. The poison skills require tons of synergies for them to be useful, and since you've got a limited supply, dumping 10 or so in CE will give a gigantic blast radius; your kill speed will increase ten fold.

As for curses, you'll definitely want at least one in each. You might not use them all the time, but they all have their uses.

Ok so to confirm my necro will eventuall end up looking like this:

20 raise skele
20 skele mage
20 skele mastery
1 revive
1 summon resist

20 Corpse explosion
1 in all curses

Sound OK? Oh and by the way, all the act 2 NM mercs i hire seem to have thorns! How do I get the might merc? Oh and by the way (noob question coming up....) what does the might aura look like? Just so I know :)
