Need guides for each element.

I have a friend who wants to know about each tree.

I know theres a Lightning sorc. uses charged bolt
fire that uses firewall and meteor
and
ice sorc that maxes synergies for blizzard.

But what i dont know is the specifics.

i dont want any hybrid ones. like meteorb. my friends isnt experienced enuf to handle that just yet.

anyone know what to skill up in for each, and what each is good for?

single tree:
20 mastery
20 skill
20-60 synergies

dual tree:
20 mastery 1
20 skill 1
10-20 synergy in skill 1
20 mastery 2
20 skill 2

good for single tree:
blizzard
frozen orb
chain lightning
lightning
meteor
hydra

dual tree is usually frozen orb with:
meteor
chain lightning
fire wall

not good main skills:
frost nova
nova
fire/ice/charged bolt
ice ball

any single tree build is good for anything not immune to that tree.

When using Meteor, dont forget that you will also mostly (apart from a tri-build) have a very powerful Fireball that you can put inbetween the timered spells!

Just pick a skill that has a lot of synergies.

Eg.) Meteor, Fireball, Blizzard, CL, L

Even though meteor synergizes with FB, and CL synergizes with L. That makes things much easier. Just max the main skills, the related mastery, and as much synergies as possible. The order of skill points usually goes as follows:
max the main skill first, and one point in mastery at clvl 30. After maxing the main skill, max the first synergy or mastery (depending if synergy yield a better damage to your main skill or mastery), and finally the rest of the synergies.

The only exception goes to FO. This spell is powerful enough without using max mastery OR synergy. Thus if you decided to go for a fully synergized version of FO, it is still powerful enough even though the synergy sucked. Simply max FO, CM, and finally icebolt.
