In running my skellimancer (still in normal) I've had some success running terror to clear out bottlenecks. It's especially helpful in the act II dungeon doorways where only two or three skellies can come to bear against the hordes of skellies on the other side that the mummies are constantly resurrecting. Once my forces are all in the room I switch to amp.
It's also a usefull hotkey if I somehow get surrounded (not very often of course).
I'm not recommending pointing it higher than 1, and it is a pre-req for decrepify, but has anyone else had success with this tactic?

That is how I use it as well.
With my Meleemancer I also use it as crowd control. When a pack of really strong monsters approaches I cast Terror on a few until it gets to a manageable size.
It is also wonderful for separating an aura enchanted boss from his minions. Making him easy pickings and his minions aura-less. Its small radius makes it perfect for these circumstances so do not put more points in it.

I use it for clearing doors, too...I also like it for separating bosspacks from bosses when there are several around (especially when dealing with combinations of Fanat, Might, extra strong, and cursed).

I used it for a while, but I prefer Dim Vision and Attract. It seems to me that Terror is a pore man's AI curse for people that are taking Decrep and don't want the other part of the curse tree.
So if you don't want to get too many points in curses, Terror is a free, useful crowd control curse.

Attract can do this in a limited way but they only backup a little bit. Also, the point of using Terror on fanat bosspacks is so your minions fight the Boss and kill it thus removing the fanat aura..
