Pindle confusion

ok first of all, people are always talking about pindle hunting. FIrst can i locate "pindle" and 3rd does he drop better then hell mephy
PS(is it true that mephy drops tal armour?)

Pindle can drop anything in the game I think, but you have to run him alot. Also, hes located in anya portal that appears after you rescue her(quest 3 in act 5). Hes the monster in the far back named Pindleskin, Pindle for short. Im not sure if tals armor can drop from meph tho

Pretty sure that Hell/Meph can't drop Tal's Armor, or any of the other really high end items inthe game. This is why people do run Pindle, Pits, Ancients Tunnels etc, because you can get the high treasure class items there.

Meph is great for a high # of mid-low high end items though, and drops at a better rate than pindle/pits by far.

Pindle = Pindleskin, Unique undead boss at the entrance to Nithalak's temple.
You can reach him through the orange portal near Anya.
Should you have activated the WP in Nithalak's temple, the orange portal will be closed and you will have to go backwards through the WP.

Pindle can practically drop anything in the game, also Tal's Armor. Opposed to Mephisto, he will not drop uniques constantly but you simply have a better chance at getting something REALLY good, like Tal's Armor, Ik armor, Griffons eye,......

Arachnid mesh, Tyrael's might(ladder only) and azurewrath (ladder only) He was well sought after to kill in 1.09 because he was easy to locate and he could drop everything in time... but in 1.10 he seems to be less generous...

But, i run my blizz sorc on ihm and have come up with some OK items.. I dont find uniques from him but mostly socket items (eth col blade being my most recent find) which got me an eth exile :D, and he gives not too bad exp.. i ended up lvling up twice in under an hour from him

from what i've encountered, meph is still the best for mf as he drops like about more rares/sets/uniques (~3. 5 on good days) than pindy (~2, 3 if lucky). Although pindy can drop better items and is really good for fast lvling (lvled my merc real fast!). you might want to try other places like andy, or lvl 85 areas (famous example, pits). If the cold immunes put you off, then try Act 1 burial grounds' crypt and mas. Ancient tunnels in act 2 and maggot lair all levels seems to provide good drops from time to time if you hate cold immunes.

Pindle can drop better then Mephisto in the way that he has a higher TC then Mephisto. Mephisto however has a higher chance to drop a Set or Unique for 2 reasons. Mephisto's chances on Uniques are better AND he drops more items per drop (max 6 items) then Pindle (max 2 items)

Pindle has another reason then drop chances that makes him worth running. He's easier to reach (just walk to Anya) and his placement is always the same (just inside temple). This makes for easy and fast running with little risk.

Correction. . .Pindle can't drop Arachnid, Tyraels might, Azurewrath, AND Cow Kings set :flip: Everyone always forgets this. It's not a bad set when put together.
