for some perspective, im lvl 68 useast softcore ladder. i have 12 skill points sittin here. i have rs/sm maxed (both are at 30) cg/gm i have 10 revives and like 6 in mage(1 and +) i have decrep adn attract so im good on curses. no to the point, what should i put points into? right now im wearing trans scales, claws adn wing but with realistically only like 35 points left, would pn even get decent damge? if not that what should i do folks? thanks
I've been having a similar problem with my mighty summoner. I've heard people suggest pumping up corpse explosion, or putting points into dim vision so that you can blind whole screens of monsters. I myself have a point in CE, and with + to skills its quite helpful. Another option would be to max mages I guess. It all depends on your style, and what you have trouble with I guess. Someone else probably has a better answer than I do though.

well...my build is similar to yours....do this
max ce and mages......then get a might merc
use attract+ amp for the melee monsters...then dim vision the ranged attackers.....as soon as a corpse falls then ce that baby and watch the whole pack of melee go down
I also do this sometimes....decrip the pack of monsters instead of amp...then cast terror...watch them run away in terror while being slowed by decrip...good for when gettin swamped
1. you rarely die and have trouble killing things....im currently lvl 76 with not so great gear...(my first char in 2 years) and im doing great no problems yet...
2.easy to play if you have not so great equitment (me) and fun as a barrel of monkeys........
This help??? whats your gear also*
Edit: im currently in act3 hell looking for the brain in the sewers

ok thanks, i already have a a2 might merc. i think im gonna max ce and i dunno what else(already have a pt into it) i do use amp dmg alot, attract is a good curse too. thanks again for the advice
for my gear, im usin an arm of king leoric, a circlet with +2 to skills, trangs scales, claws, and wing. some crappy boots. looking to finish off trangs
CE rox when fighting large mobs. It comes in very handy when running to baal killing everything in the keep.

does points into mages really help? i had an overlord build in 1.09 and the 40+ mages i had didn't help at all in hell dificulty.
just wondering if it has changed.

unless you've maxed lower resist curse, mages don't do much damage in nm, and even less in hell, they're just more meat (bone?) shields.
as for poison nova, without it's synergies, it's just a minor annoyance to hell monsters, but it can be a good way of keeping them from healing.
if you have extra points, you might want to put a few into summon resists, or maybe bulk up your golem of choice.
if you choose to max corpse explosion, make sure you have the mana to use it, that skill is not blue orb friendly

I find mages quite handy. Never invest more than 1 point in Summon Resist due to diminishing returns (which is also why 1 pt in LR is just as good as 20 with the right gear).

i like mages for a couple of reasons....
1.more meat for the taking...hell can be tough sometimes so mages just add to your army
2.there fun...i just got a new computer with comcast cable internet...so now im tempted to get a huge army
3.i dont see what else there is to max really...bone and poison are out...so its either curses (+ skills help there) bone armor (you will only get like 700 bone armor not much for hell) golem (need i say more?) mages...(FUN)
they also slow boses down with the blue mage and if you get sm and rm up to 40+ each they start doing some damage...i know...i've got it
I did consider using the marrowalks bug :scared:
With a point in armor and wall, would the absorb have been at all decent?
I might still get some for another +2 to skelly mastery.

That would yield an absorb of 530 points. Not bad.
