View Full Version : Good kicker equipment?

I just started a dragon talon kicker exclusively for pvm. I'll max dragon talon, venom and shadow master for sure. This equipment is what i had in mind:

Weapon:Crescent moon (phase blade?)
Weapon switch: Shadow claws, +venom or shadow master
Belt: Verdungos
Gloves: Draculs grasp
Boots: Upgraded goreriders
Ring 1:Raven frost
Ring 2: Natures peace or something else
Helm: Not sure here, what's recomended? Shako?
Shield: Stormshield
Armor: No idea, what's good?
Amulet: +2 skiller, highlords or ?

So pls help me a bit with this equipment, would c/c be better? I'm not very rich, so the items i cant aford are the expensive runewords liek enigma, botd and doom.

Personally, I'd go with either equipment changes:

A)
1. Look for a high VIT, low PDR Verdungoes and use that instead.
2. Use an upgraded Twitchthroe socketed with an IAS jewel
3. Use Fade.

OR

B)
1. Switch out the Verdungoes for Nosferatu's Coil.
2. Use a Crow Caw socketed with an IAS jewel
3. Use Fade

IMO, it's a waste not to use Fade if you're using a Phaseblade, as you only need 54% IAS on equipment to reach the speed cap on DTalon. Crescent Moon alone gives 20% IAS, and a Twitch socketed with an IAS jewel(or Nos Coil + Crow Caw socketed with an IAS jewel) would put you at 55% and 60% respectively, allowing you to use Fade to get much needed resists(and a little PDR to make up for the loss of PDR from belt).

Personally, I'd go with option A, as Twitchthroe looks very badass on an Assassin, and the +block/FHR will go a very long way - it means you'd get a 73% block with StormShield at level 80, with just 136 DEX).

As for Helm, go for Guiliaume's Face (Orphan Call helm), the Crushing Blow and +STR always helps(plus, it goes together well with the look of Twitchthroe).

As for Ammy, look for resists especially(a high-end Metalgrid would come in especially useful. If you can afford it, Mara's would be better, but not by much, as DTalon'ers don't place +skills as a high priority - damage comes from boots and modifiers like CB/Static, not +skills).

Thx for the reply :) Maybe i should mention i play hcl, btw is there a better runeword to put in a phaseblade for kickers?

doom, if your rich...stick to crecent moon (static)


id go with upd tiamats over ss, if i wasnt c/c and obsessed with crushing blow

the pdr from ss will put you over the cap with fade making it pretty usless, and tiamats has added elemental damage and potentailly better resist

never tried twitchroe, ill take a looksy

as for helm, guillems or crown of ages (godly, perfect pdr boost for fade...damn near the cap)

blessed aim mercs own, and theyre available in normal...youll be great pals by hell

try for ed/ias jewels...really boosts kicks

I think for pure kickers go C/S. I agree with FADE.

Stormlash is the perfect weapon for you. CB and Static. Look at the Fleshripper Dagger as well.

For Hardcore, you may want to use CoS and BF at times. Mods that help BF generally work well with DTalon.

If you use Cresent Moon, try to get as much Lightning Damage charms as possible. Since you'll get bonus damage from the Cresent Moon. And DTalon will allow you to attack quickly.

I think people looking for help with AR from a Runeword weapon should really look to BLACK as well. BLACK can be put into a Scourge or a Legendary Mallet for BF. Black has 40% CB and +200 AR, which can be modified by other sources of +% increases, like DTalon has.

You have to have something in your AR intitially in order for % increases to be very helpful.
