View Full Version : Poison/Bone Hybrid possible ?

Hey all :howdy:

Want to make me a new Necromancer. Since my other one is a Summonmancer with maxed Skellies, I'd like to do something else this time.

Found me a nice white wand with +3 Bone Spear and +1 other bone skill (Bone Spirit of Prison I think - can't check here), I was thinking of making a White out of that...

Is it possible to make a Poison/Bone (or rather, Bone/Poison) hybrid ? I've only spotted Bone/Summon Hybrids. Of course the +4 to Skellies on the White'll help, but I'd rather be a pure caster with one Golem and a Merc.

And, which Golem to use ? I've seen a Fire Golem mentioned, but Clay golem gets the slow.

I'm aiming to take this guy into Baal Runs and MF largely. No PVP.

Any ideas on the possible build ? And, will I have enough space to squeeze in a C.E. ? That always speeds up things nicely.

IMO, this build of yours will not stand a chance, especially without marrowalks. You wont be able to max your skills and will basically have a few halfway synergized (this translates into weak) skills.


Your best bet is bone/skelly (note that this build is built around the marrowalks, so...) or poison/skelly. Reason for this is that you can get away with 20 RS, and ~1-5 Mastery. Sure, the skellys may not kill all too well, but they'll tank more than enough for you spam your nova/bs.

Just my opinion, based mostly on experience. Sorry for not backing it with any facts, data, or numbers :grrr:

Bone / Poison Hybrid is possible, but I wouldn't recommend it. Your going to end up crippling one side of the PNB tree by not synergizing the attacks.

So say, You max Bone Spear / Spirit / Bone Wall (basics for a boner) then that will leave you short on the poison side, as a non synergized poison nova is gonna be pretty weak. Same goes in reverse.

It's basically spreading yourself too thin.

Will have to go with Bone/Skelliemancer then :)

Not a bad thing still, just was looking forward more to pure caster =]

Will at least mean I can keep my To gloves on my Rabid Druid ;)

I think the "Venom" runeword is interesting:
Hit Causes Monster To Flee 25%
Prevent Monster Heal
Ignore Target's Defense
7% Mana Stolen Per Hit
Level 15 Poison Explosion (27 Charges)
Level 13 Poison Nova (11 Charges)
+273 Poison Damage Over 6 seconds

If the charges works the same way as Marrowwalk, you can max poison dagger. Thus together with Marrow, you will get a full-strength bone tree and decent poison tree (strong poison dagger and charged poison nova).

But after 11 attacks it will cost you an arm and leg to recharge the Nova.

Since PNova needs spamming every two seconds why would you want to be playing this kind of hybrid anyway? You will be switching skills all the time and not really get into blasting of Sprit/Spear at a high rate.

That wand gave me the idea of the Bone Mancer, and I like having a secondary attack to deal with Immunes. (Like e.g. the second wave of Minions). A full caster just seemed a fairly nice idea.

I tested it out. Right now i can take down 90% of all pubby chars. Sorcs are very hard and some chars are just way too powerful. But its a fun build. Hope you enjoy it :)
