Man it feels good to be back in this game again :)

I stopped playing about 4 months ago due to a hectic life style, but things have quietened down recently, and I feel the urge to play again :)

Then I got thinking  (not one of my strongest attributes...) what character to start with? since I gave up all my old account names and passwords, I'm litterally starting from scratch (and with only 2 weeks experience on 1.10

I was thinking about creating a Blizzard Sorc to do some MF'ing (on HC Ladder btw) but I've heard that starting with Hammerdins is the way to go for a new poor player.

Can anyone offer some advice on this, or reccommend any other builds that would be good with starting with no gear?

Hammerdin, skelemancer, meteorb sorceress are all good ideas.
Casters are powerful in 1.10 and less item dependent so any would be good idea.

Hammerdins are a great play and can deal out massive damage with little or no special gear. Just keep in mind that while Hammderdins have extremely strong attack they also be weak in defense. Build your defenses and resists quickly and practice a lot with knowing how/where to throw your hammers while avoiding attacks. The biggest problem I always had was with ranged attacks...if you're not paying attention they can take you down fast.

Welcome back and good luck if you decide to go with a Hammerdin.

i just started back also.

i chose a hammerdin. i have been following the guide in the strategy section.
fastest killing character i have ever played.

been finding pretty good gear for my skelemancer. i have never had a character that did so much damage. i just turned 60 and he does 1900-2100 dmg. i dont even have very good gear. i am in act 4 nm still using the milabraga scepter weapon. mephisto didnt stand a chance.

only place that i had trouble was the maggot lair. other than that very easy.

Welcome back to the game

Hammerdin is a good idea. You should read the guides found in the pala forum for sure. Also, make sure you get a lot of + to skills items, this will greatly boost your damage coming from hammers.

I don't know about hammerdins, but I have built a meteorb sorc and a fishymancer having no good gear except what I found while playing, so they are both fine ways to start (or restart)
