2 of the Amulets I crafted out of 10 last nite (http://www.villagephotos.com/viewpubimage.asp?id_=8467798&selected=845208)

Its a damn shame neither of them had skills...especially the 20 FCR one...

Do you all think these amulets are still borderline godly, or no?

id probably still prefer a mara for a necro, if I HAD to have something to reach a cast breakpoint, i might. But usually its not a problem for me.

Its more of a problem for psn necros to acheice FCR breaks. Our godly weapon as a psn necro is Deaths Web, which has NO fast casts on it. Needless to say most psn necro can only hit the 50% break (gloves, belt, ring).

fcr isn't that important for a psn necro IHMO, as PN takes time to set in, so no point in uber spamming.

if the 3% ml was instead +2 necro skills... then that would be GODLY.


still, they're decent amulets for mid-lvl casters right now, if you don't have anything better.

Exactly. That is what I was thinking, I should have clarified that I meant FCR to teleport.

What lvl were you when you gambled for these ammys? What lvl were you when you crafted them? You may have been unable to get any decent +skills mods. If you found them where did you find them?

ilvl must be = to 90 to get any +2 to skills

heh ive crafted over 200 amulets by now, lots of +2/10, and one +2 war cries/20 cast :(

you need to get an amulet that has ilvl 89, and use a character that is lvl 93+ to get +2 skills/cast, however, if you use a magical amulet from baal, ilvl 99, you can be lvl 83 or something, the formula goes like this

character lvl/2 + ilvl/2 = 90+ i think

The ilvl of a Crafted Item is equal to half the level of the crafting character (rounded down) plus half the ilvl of the input item (rounded down). Put another way: ilvl = int(.5 * clvl) + int(.5 * ilvl)

When selecting which Magic Prefixes/Suffixes are available to be Gambled, the level of the Magical Prefix/Suffix is checked against the randomly chosen value in the range of +6 Levels/-3 levels of your character's level.

both of those are from the arreat summit, lets note, hmmm...putting both of those together you'd only have to be lvl 92 to have a 100% chance of crafting an ammy (from a gambled item) that has a probability of having +2 skills.

I had read in a post in statistics that 95 was where to start for 100% chance but could've that person been wrong?

UPDATE: nah I misread the statistics post, I'm right with the lvl 92 thing as long as the arreat summit is correct, as that would leave you with nothing but lvl 90 amulets or above when crafting gambled ammies.

The amulets I used to craft with are gambled from anya in hell with my lvl 92 sorc.

I also do the crafting with the same lvl 92 sorc.


So, is this method of crafting even high enough for me to get a +2/20 FCR???

I thought it was...

don't get me wrong both amulets have their strong points, but I dont seen any need to wear either. Sell em to gheed and try again.
you basically just got lucky with the resists and +mana. otherwise id rather wear a cats eye for speed and dex, or a maras.

if you felt the need to post up those crappy amulets you obviously have had some bad luck crafting. Im not sure which recipe ur using but maybe its time to try it with another char/recipe. try a lvl 99 char that always helps :scratch:

Um maybe you didnt notice but one of them has 20 fcr. And why would you need ias from the cats eye?

I just had some great luck,

Plague Necklace
req lvl:89
+2 to all necro skill levels
8% mana regen
64 mana
18% faster cast rate :drool:
19% res all
psn legth reduced by 75%

i think this is pretty good, toke me 4 days without sleep to get it :lol:
Ill post a pic of it in a bit, d2 is acting up right now.

I think he meant the FRW on the cat eye, and not the IAS.
