View Full Version : leveling
Do you level faster when you do group runs because I just like to solo with my skelliemancer but I find leveling to take too damn long now that I am at lvl 50...
you usually level up faster in higher player games and in groups because you have teammates who (hopefully) also do some killing. however more people also means more monster hp, so they do take longer to kill.
a good idea is to find a decent balance of people and still maintain a decent killing speed. around 5 people in the game is usually good for optimal experience gain.
Also know that you (and your merc as well) suffer experience penalty if your character has a much higher/lower level then the monsters in the present area. Monsters level can be found here (http://www.d2data.net/)

Leveling is more complicated in 1.10. The penalties explain it all.
You get Penalites on:
**How far away you are from a kill. At a certain distance you get nothing
**Level difference between character and monster.
**How many players in your game.
So the fastest way to level is to join big games, party up and stay close to the party while killing monsters near your level.

I too like to solo with my skelliemancer, and I've been playing him through on /players 8. I get 450% experience for the 8 player game, and he and his small skellie army have no trouble with the extra HP of the monsters. As an impatient player, and I don't have much time to play, this is a lifesaver for me
