Where to hunt 500+ defense armors.....

Has anyone had any experience with this?? I want to make a couple runewords. I see that 500+ defense seem to be the best. Any advice on where to find an Archon, Dusk, etc;??

from my experience, i got a dusk shroud from a1 hell. like near where andrieal was. it was almost 500 def. fer higher ones, naturally go to a2, a3, a4,a5,cow

I found lately Lacquered Plate with 3 sockets that had over 530 def from hell act 4 start

In hell. Pits, cows, act2, 3, 4, 5. Everwhere. Jus kill monsters and eventually one will drop.

I try to look for socketable armors doing pit runs, or by checking what item lvl the armor is, and find out where they are most likely to be dropped. I have had pretty good luck, with the exception of one time, when I was trying to find an armor already socketed. I also tend to take my mf gear off, although it may not matter. It would suck to find a Valor, Skulders, etc. when you are just looking for a socketable armor. :uhhuh:

:clap: Thank you all for your help. I've used the new drop calculator to no avail. And I read that I shouldn't wear any MF gear to find ehtereal, normal, and socketed. I guess now that I have a couple characters in HELL, I'll just play and wait. Thank you again. By the way, I would LOVE to find a VALOR, or SKULLDERS while looking for other armor. LOL :worship:

Anywhere in hell should be fine. In particular act 5 baal runs should be good.

I've found quite a few armors like these that were worth keeping in the Act1 Hell Pit (in the tamoe highland). And yes, you would get better results if you had zero or very little MF.

My favorite place to find items is the World Stone Keep lvl 2, 3, Throne of Destruction. Clearing each of these areas then Baal in hell and you should find at least one set of decent armor.

I'd have to say the pits too. . but I've never really looked for socketed armors except when I mfed in the pits.
