Whispering to other people

Well I found someone to trade/quest with and he told me to whisper to him but how do I do that?? I know that you can do that in chat but how do I find him. I am just confused.

Just to clarify a bit (cause I found learning to whisper a little tricky at first), if you want to whisper "hello, how are you" to someone with the account name JohnSmith, you would type:


/w *johnsmith hello, how are you


and hit enter. Piece of cake (don't know why it was tough for me to begin with) :scratch:

Yes, that's correct. However, if you only know the "character name" of the player, and not the account name, just leave out the " * ".
