Well it really depends on the buyer but most people would say no against um for shako..

Some ppl can give you shako even free but I wouldn't count on it :). I believe it's more chance to get shako for free than to get it for Um rune.

Yesterday I traded with a person. We met on-bet I hadn't seen/known him before.
I: Offer X need Y + Z
He: Need X offer Y
I: I'm hard need this Z, so I offer X need Y + Z
He: No
*He entered with another char, dropped Z on the ground*
He: Need X offer Y

So he feel OK to give Z for free to a stranger, but he never sell items cheaper than he believe they are worth. And I myself think/do the same.

P.S. I traded with him X to Y after getting Z for free.

Well, you originally wanted Y+Z so it was kinda natural move to trade X to Y after gettin Z from that other person :)

I still don't quite get it what's the point to refuse trading the X for Y+Z in the first place? I do understand the nuances: trading X for Y and giving Z for free gives the impression that he knows his trade values and that he's a man of principle yet generous while just trading X for Y+Z might make him look like a noob. On the other hand he might give the impression that he's just hard-headed, unflexible and anal retentive :). Seems to me like too much to bother... :)

He entered with the second chars to drop Z. And his first char was in the game too. He can easily trade between his own chars using the trade window. Even after dropping Z with one char he had enough time to pickup it with the other char.
