View Full Version : Does 3 fps feral deal physical damage?
Has anyone tried a wolfbarb with 4 shael gries caddy? According to the_dragoon's calculator it should be attacking at 3 fps. But long time ago i heard that 3 fps deals no physical damage. I wonder if this has been changed in 1.10 and if anyone tried that build can tell me whether it deals damage or no. Thanks in advance for replies.

this was electricblue's test on werewolves, i think it would apply the same way for wolfbarbs.
its fpa btw. :) you might get your head biten off if you write fps.

One thing to be careful of, however. My calculator's data for Feral Rage (v1.10) was just an approximation and isn't necessarily correct in extreme cases. If you want to test something, I'd suggest looking at Standard Attack or Hunger to see if you can get it down to low speeds since I know my calculator is correct for those. :)

cool thanks. I'd be making a wolf barb base on gries caddy anyway and when he levels up I'd tell the resulf if he swings at 3 fpA (happy? :) ) or 4 fpa.

so far from a lot of testing, it is impossibe to get 3fpa legitally. and i would expect actual druid werewolves/bear would have better chances to reach the 3fpa anyways.
but thats just me.
it was once thought a zon could hit 3fpa.
2fps/fpa assassin kicks and 2fps/fpa amazon strafe :p

can you please run some tests on feral rage for barbs... i believe your calculator is wrong... i think (as do many in the barb forum) that feral rage is just as fast as normal attack (where your calculator says its a frame faster)
thnx

Depends on the speed you're going at, I tested at a speed that was supposed to be 4 frames faster. ^_^
Anyways, I'm going to test single player some too.

What I was seeing for Feral Rage was that if you hit a monster, your attack speed was faster than Standard attak, but if you missed, then it was the same speed as standard attack. Perhaps I will load D2 and check it out one last time. Does anyone have a character I can download with those items I need to make a barb wereform?

Follow-up question for you:
How are you guys testing attack speeds? If you're just standing around, swinging at air it should register at the same rate as a Standard attack. However, if you give yourself a low damage weapon and attack a monster with a lot of life, you can figure out if, when you land a hit, your speed is faster. :)
