KTA 3.0 Guardianship

Last night all 8 memebrs of KTA Team 3.0 met up for the final push for their Gaurdianship. The team was ...

Fire Sorc
Lightening Sorc
Pally (still not sure what type of paly he is)
Bear
Ice Zon
TrapperSin
ThrowBarb
Javazon

The Javazon was a late addition, after our Ice Sorc bit the dust in our last session. Rather than wait for the next KTA team to start we all agreed the Ice Sorc player coud join us with his existing Javazon that was the same level as the rest of the team.

Actually the Bear and Ice Zon were about 15 minutes late, which gave the rest of us time to waste big D in Act 4, and do a couple of Baal run to warm up.

2nd Baal run, we reached the Throne room and we were progressing with a litte minion extermination ... when our Bear who was standing amongst the minions got smacked big time. His life dropped to a sliver ... fast rejuv ... hit again and again his life down to a sliver ... fast rejuv ... hit a 3rd time ... and ALT / F4 exit in order not to die. Once I saw him safe in channel, I could take a breath again. Same with the rest of the team I think.

Was it the 3rd Baal run, when one of the team decided not to wait for the rest of the team and entered the Throne alone, only to find a bunch of monsters waiting. 4 full rejuvs later, and the arrival of the rest of us, saved us from losing another team member.

Then when the last 2 memebrs arrived, we actually started with rescueing Anya. This was how the Ice Sorc died last session to Gloams and Succubi ... so this time we took it slow, and stuck to the walls at the side of the map. It was intense, but our caution payed off ... Anya was rescued, and no one died.

Now it was Baal time ... for real. We got down to the 3rd level and waited by the stairs down Baal throne room for all memebrs to arrive. Then Shout, BO, and BC and down we went .... BAM ... a whole bunch of monsters, Oblivian Knights and Dolls were waiting for us. Thank god we went down as a group, as a single player would have been overwhelmed and gotten Deeds.

We took it abit slower with the minions this time, and the Bear stood back abit so there were no close calls.

As usual Baal himself was not a problem and he death gave us all our Guardianships. With the exception of the loss of our Ice Sorc last session, the remainder of the party survived.

Yes we were twinked, but the lack of Conviction, Static, and a Necro providing a shield of skeletons and curses was noticed by all. Good gear didn't really make up for the lack of these 3 things.

To round off the evening, we did a Hell Cow run.

Syxx would like to thank all KTA 3.0 players for a couple of weeks of excellent fun. Believe it or not, this is my first HC Guardian and I'm glad he comes with KTA title. He also has the best item I've ever owned (I dont MF) ... and I love his UM'ed Arreats. The UM was donated by Hell Heph on his death, and the Arreats was found while playing KTA 3.0.

Morning all

Last nights gaming was alot of fun for me. Although it was a shame that I was not able to complete KTA 4.0 with the dearly departed KTA_ChillyWitch, it was still a pleasure to help you guys smoke Baal with my LF zon. Hopefully I will be able to savour the taste of victory fully in KTA 4.0 and get to the end with KTA_MonkeyNooks (thx pet name generator).

Oh, and I would also like to point out that after we had finished all KTA related business, we decided that a game of Ironman would be fun. We all created new characters, and got them to lvl 9. After a discussion on what the exact rules would be, we all headed out into blood moor and proceeded to pund on each other.

With a few experienced PvPers (Pk, PKKers) in there obviously I was going to last all of 0.7 seconds having NEVER shown any hostility towards another player on BNET (well, not physically anyway). BUT...a few short minutes later, with the blood rushing through my veins, there I stood..alone and triumphant!! Oh it was glorious, the plucky underdog comes from nowhere and teaches everyone how it's done. Priceless.

Honestly though, I think my victory was due to more luck than skill. It seemed that for the first couple of minutes the more experienced guys were going after each other, and left me pretty much alone. All I had to do was come in and mop up the crumbs with my Holy Fire Ranger. Nevertheless, the 3 ears that I collected are now my most prized posessions.

I think I could be tempted to do more of this kind of thing, it was certainly a thrill. Although I still won't be considering pking at any time, dueling is certainly an option.

Here are some facts by yours truly:

Mine and Dave's possible KTA playing times:
(final and definite version)

Mo: 20:30 - 23:30 (CET)
We: 18:00 - 23:30 (CET)

A word about time zones:
(for those lowbrow of you ;) )

The main European timezone is UTC (GMT), the other timezones are counted from GMT. So when you are in CET timezone, your time is GMT+1 (that means GMT plus one hour). You should know the timezone of your country. All recent KTA members belong to one of these (hope I didn't forget someone):

UTC = Coordinated Universal Time (e.g. United Kingdom)
GMT = Greenwich Mean Time (the same as UTC)
CET = Central European Time (e.g. Germany, Sweden, Czech republic)
EET = Eastern European Time (e.g. Finland)

CET is GMT+1
EET is GMT+2

Hope this helps a bit.

I'd vote that Vectom and Dave play with us, even if they start a bit late on mondays. Usually we can use this time to MF a bit, get a lost quest for someone who had to drop out, run Baal..etc etc.

I might ocasionally be late as well, so a little buffer would suit me.

hi all... there was a BIG FAT chance this would happen... and it did...

I CHANGED MY MIND :idea:

i decided that the trap assa will be pretty UNexciting, and aldough safe.. very unable to kill a thing as well.

so i will go with an amazon, an hybrid to be exact.
i will use lightning fury (to handle large packs)
freeze arrow (freezing is just to nice not to have)
a BIG FAT valk (prolly doing more dmg on a single target then i will do :lol: )
slow missiles
and my decoy.

i feel that will be a much more adabtable and just as safe caracter
