Is anyone maintaining a list of known 1.10 bugs ?
If not then I would like to get the ball rolling.
Gameplay :
1. Andariel drop bug
2. Opening a chest in a corner can move you behind the chest, and stuck unable to move if no teleport. This is most annoying for a necro since you have to rejoin the game.
3. ed/max ed/min jewels do not add ed in armour including shield, but do work in weapon. Can anyone confirm if this a display bug or full bug ?
4. Upgrades of ethereal armour do not gain the defense bonus.

3. In certain places such as opening door coming back from Outer Cloister you can be running still, which can be used to keep the game open. Can anyone confirm this as a Realm or Game issue ?
4. WW sometimes gets broken such that when you try to whirl you do not move or attack, you just whirl in place. Rejoining game fixes. Can anyone confirm this as a Realm or Game issue ?
5. Games still crash as much as they used to in 1.09 - watch out muling. Anyone get game crashes in SP ?
6. Moving items from/to cube a lot can leave you stuck unable to select any objects on the ground. Rejoining game fixes.

Realm bug #1 should include both accounts and characters. I believe that the ED/max ED/min bug is not simply display - but wait for a second say. You listed andy drop bug twice?
I know there are more bugs, ill see if I can think of some more.

hasn't it been confirmed that gloams/black souls are bugged to do more damage than they are suppose to? ranged attackers are suppose to do more dmg anyway in patch, but i thought i read somewhere that the gloams/souls damage calculations are bugged.

Hehe oops yes I list Andariel twice, maybe because it's such a nice bug :).
Gameplay :

First of, there is really no strange thing that you see some item types more than others, that IS part of randomness. Blaiming it on some initial seed is just humbug, not only does the seed not really change just once in a few seconds but it is also later affected by many things you do in the game. You need to start learniong how random number generators work in addition to your statistical "skills" and also how it is used in the game. By the way, different drops are not even related to each other since they use completely different "streams" of seeds and random numbers. And finally, yes, randomness do include at times "huge" drops and sometimes "terrible" (I assume you refer to ammount, because the game has no concept of what a "terrible" item is).

Whenever i use cta to bc, bo. then i roll the mouse or immediately cast bonearmor, i get connection interupted, and my friends say i left the game without bnet saying i disconnected or exited. This may be caused by crap connection also...
Not sure if this works for everyone.. but if I "ctrl+left click" on the cube, I'll get disconnected, but luckily I can get back without the 5-minute wait.
(i.e. quick sell.. don't ask me why, just found it out by accident).
And oh, I can still tele into walls in the tower cellar and maggot lair, safe from attacks!

I don't think this is a bug, I believe you're getting banned for behaving like a bot.
Sometimes, the leap attack skill will stop working. It seems to happen when I get hit hard enough to get stunned*, and am in the process of leaping. It was kinda strange to watch my barb fall out of the sky...
The only fix I've found is to rejoin the game. The same goes for the regular leap skill.
*not the stun from the stun attack.

the ww bug is a game bug and very enoying.even after killing a monster on the end of the ww.then cant ww again till you move.
There is a bug, for multiple chars.
Spamming a certain spell, like telekiness for sorc, changing auras on pala etc etc.
After period you cant talk to NPC/other chars/use wp's/go bloody from a5town etc

Same base type drops seem to occur quite a lot, especially for drops within the same second, eg 2 set rings, set CB + unique CB, 2 elite uniques from 2 monsters in the same second. It may be Blizzard is using the clock as part of the random seed. This might also explain why you get periods of time where drops are huge, and periods when drops are terrible. (Yes I have studied Statistical Mathematics so I understand random distributions.)
I also may be hidden MF penalties are being applied to short games to penalise potential botters.
Another theory is based on time of day/date. Anyone remember Dungeon Keeper used to reveal secret levels on certain days of the year.

Additional bugs :
Ranged attacks may deal damage when hitting people IN TOWN.
Display bug : When not having the sufficient ammount of str but having str bonus, some items equipped might not appear.
Having this, I believe the str bonus is a BUG.

Items that you have equipped with the help from charms (str / dex) cannot be seen by other players.
Also the enhanced damage min/max thing still seems to work correctly on mercs.
that unconfirmed about drops, i agree with it.
But it can be just (bad) luck.
A small bug, at the start screen after selecting a char.
If you do it quick, like quiting from chat, select other char. You can see multiple chars in start screen over each other. I hope you guys understand what i write, little bit hard to explain :)
those str charms bug looks cool, naked sorces with aura, or barbs with aura fighting with bare hands caus you cant see the ik hammer :0

The gloams are bugged. Normally the lightning bolts also do manaburn, but the damage from manaburn is also transferred over to your characters HP.

Drops are randomly seeded by the second on your computer clock. Just thought you might like to know.

This is Blizzards way of preventing characters from selling quest items. Try it with the Gidbinn or even the Hellforge Hammer.

This has been around for a long time. There are areas outside of the normal boundaries that you can teleport to. These also occur in the jungles of Act III, the plains of Act IV and the River of Flame.

This is not a new bug, it has been around for a long time. Still a good idea to report about it though.

To sum it up quickly: Chain Lightning listed damage in Hell is 5-190. There is a bug where they deal their Melee Attack as part of their ranged attack, which is 42-108 and physical damage. Another hit is from a new missile bonus, and based on Mlvl 83 for Act 5 Hell Wisps, it's 166-169 lightning damage. So each lightning attack a Willowisp uses deals 213-467 damage, 42-108 of which is physical. And you can get hit five times per bolt, if it all goes through you. That's 1065-2335.
That was my understanding of how the gloam bug worked... As quoted from a summary of a battle.net post.
There is no physical damage in gloam lightning attack whatsoever.. Easy to prove:
1.Necro casts bone armor then gets hit by a gloam- bone armor still intact and takes no damage while the necro loses hp.
2.Equip yourself with a tgods and guardian angel to get 95% resist lightning and +numerical absorb. Watch the gloam lightning heal u.
3.Druid with cyclone armor takes no damage from gloam attacks while the cyclone armor is still intact.
P.S. I dont view the gloams as bugged in fact their damage CAN be resisted and negated quite easily. What does bother me though is succubus' blood star. I still havent worked out how to protect myself from it and it can do some obscene amounts of damage.(Just try to stand in a bosspack of hell witches in worldstone keep hell difficulty).
I've got a realm bug for you, although it may not prove consistant.
I play every character in all my accounts on a set day every 75-85 days to avoid character expirations. I cut it a bit close and played them all on day 87 last week. As I went through a couple account, I noticed some of my mules had different expiration dates on them than they should have, meaning they were set to expire in 7 days when it should have been 3, and I hadn't played them since the last round of updates. Anyway, after playing at least one character in an account, and as I returned to the selection screen, I would possibly see another character instantly relabeled as expired! This happened to me 4 times in as many accounts. I was rather ticked, since one of the victims held 90% of my rune wealth on Bnet (collected over the past 4 years). I should have made those fancy runewords while I had the chance! Another weird thing is that I can select any of these characters to go play with. However, when I go to join a game or create one, I get a "Realm Down" message and get kicked off of BNET for 5 minutes, based on my IP address. This is in contrast to what happens when I try to select some intentionally expired characters (they just give me the "character has expired" message when you try to select them)
Now for ANOTHER bug. I have an account with 7 expired characters(all intentionally expired) just as name holders. When I went into that account the other day to play the only valid character in that account, all the "expired" labels on the other characters were replaced by the "xxx days until expiration" label! I actually was able to take all of these expired characters into games and play with them! One odd thing about them is that I don't think I ever played any of them for their full 2 hours after I first created them, so this may be another factor.
I emailed Blizzard about this issue, but they gave me the standard "we can't do anything about expired characters" speil, but did ask for their *.m* save files on my computer. These are definitely bugs and I don't think they want to own up to it just yet. :spy:

whatabout the flamebellow bug? where casting inferno and leaping causes you to become almost a "ghost". Unhitable by attacks but unable to hit anything yourself?
I've managed to lose Leap Attack without a) being stunned or b) changing moves mid-leap. I don't know what the trigger would be, under those conditions; my best guess is the target dying before I got to it.
Possible strafe bug (minor): We all know how you can't move while strafing. I've noticed that I can't always move for a couple seconds afterwards; I can run in place, but that's just no good.
In SP or TCP/IP: Sometimes Baal doesnīt spawn his minions! Even after cleaning ALL the worldstone levels...
Some melee monster HIT the players while being at a very far distance, specially champions and bosses wich poseses stun atacks.
ŋthe bugs on ranged attacks applies to some of the (guest) skeletals rogues in ACT V? Those with fire arrows inflict terrible damage, while those with cold arrows are relatively easy(er) to control.

When a Necromancer levels up and has skeletons as minions, the minions are instantly destroyed. This only applies to Skeleton Warriors and Magi, not Golems (unsure about Revives).
It isnīt a big deal, but I think its a bug that came with 1.10: when you move around anywhere and get stuck behind some obstacle, then you may get your character shaking like crazy (probably Game AI canīt decide wheter your char can go one way or another)
What does bother me though is succubus' blood star. I still havent worked out how to protect myself from it and it can do some obscene amounts of damage.(Just try to stand in a bosspack of hell witches in worldstone keep hell difficulty).

Here are a couple more:
1. Slow casting speed when equipped with full Trang-Oul set. This is a known, confirmed bug. From the Arreat Summit - "Note: wearing this set will increase casting delay resulting in slower casting (even with fast cast items). This is a bug and has been reported"
2. Previously selected attack type may be used first time after a new attack type has been selected. E.G. Paladin has been using Charge attack on left mouse button. When entering area with Oblivion Knights and their nasty Iron Maiden curses, left buton skill is switched to Holy Bolt. First attack after switching to Holy Bolt actually comes out as a Charge. (Murphy's law is usually in effect when this sort of thing happens and Pally will be hit with IM and die.) This only happens on occasion and I haven't determined what causes it. I just tried quickly to get this to happen and had no success. Unless someone else can testify this happens to them, this one should be listed as unconfirmed.

My brother has told me about something like this (switching Charge for Fana), but I have not actually witnessed or experienced it. Good enough?

I agree this one sucks. It's happened to me 3 times-all in Lower Kurast. Each time I had to leave the game to get free. Since I hadn't found the WP for there yet for 2 of those times, it also entailed more wasted minutes running back up there. No biggie, just a bothersome hassle.

another bug ive noticed!
this one has to do with skill granting pieces of equipment. Sometimes ill hit my hotkey for teleport on my hammerdin (granted buy enigma) and the skill WILL NOT come up. i check my right click skills and tele isnt there. ive been able to fix this by taking it off then putting enigma back on. still kinda scary when it happens

mercs using delerium will stand around with their thumb up their butt after they doll and reappear....i found that you have to set up a portal....go to town and then come back before they will fight again
they fixed the guided arrow bug..... guided arrow was never surpose to pierce... even if u have the skill..... people say guided not piercing is a bug but it isnt.... its weird how it took v1.10 before the stoped guided from piercing....
Poison attack from vipers in hell act4 does insane amount of dmg, think it's bugged.
I had something happen last night that was a first for me[USW-NL]. I used the WP to Catacombs, but was blocked by two crypts from getting to the stairs going down (or up, for that matter). More of a fluke than a bug, but still kind of strange.

A few posts ago, someone mentioned the arrows hitting people in town bug.
The way it works is that the arrows from rogue mercs keep going into town. So if a rogue shoots an arrow at someone at the town entrance, the arrow could potentially hit and kill someone who's standing in town.

I think i have found the worst bug for a player: the lost of item.
I play on European server.
Sometimes when I die i try to get my body in order to get 75% of my lost Xp.
For that i wear some item which where in my box. Then it happens that whith those i die a second time. So I leave the game and when I come back pfffou i have lost item that I wear to get my body back. Is is normal? If not I am really angry against blizzard since i have lost 3 items whith this.
EDIT: after making a test i feel that's maybe a NOOB afirmation of my part since it's seems to happen every time. So it cant' be a bug but i don't think it's normal that we can't get back all our stuff.
RE-EDIT: ok i just made a search and i learn it's "normal" sorry for the post. But i still think that we should put it on bug list. It's not normal that you loose item you wear... we already loose xp when we die. It realy should be fixed.

Blizzard has stated that while it is the last major patch for the game, patches fixing bugs will still be released as needed. So no more tweaks to the skills or items, but definately fixes of some things you may read here.

Are we quite sure the dmg from gloams, vipers & succubi is actually bugged or just very high dmg?? Just seems high to me - tricky to kill, to be sure.
I've managed to passify the Succubus blood star. Using a wind druid with SS as swap. Stand in the middle and the Hurricane hits stop them from casting the blood star. SS helps reduce dmg on the way there - works fine in boss packs & champ packs too.
Gloams - best def/dmg, again, is Hurricane - stand in the middle casting Cyclone Armour and whittle them away. Once you are on the middle of them and they are being hit, they do not shower you with lightning.
Delerium works well on Gloams & Succubi too.
Viper poison and Horadrim Ancients do deal a lot of poison dmg - but high poson res satisfies getting past them.
So ... personally I don't find any of the dmg done by Hell monsters to be bugged or 'insane' (himeji) or 'obscene' (Fearoth) or 'terrible (xnick) - just high and needing tactics to get past them.
The main thing is to hit all the above monsters hard and hit them first before they can do too much dmg to you.
Delerium is good too for melee chars.
I'm wondering, and not wanting to flame anyone , whether for 'bugged' monster dmg we should actually read 'difficult to get past'. Sure, the dmg is going to increase in multiplayer - but maybe this is what Blizz intended - a mixture of chars & skills to cope with whatever is thrown at you.

I once had the same problem and thought it was a bug... until I noticed that I had a tome of town portal in my stash :uhhuh: . I threw it out and everything was back to normal again.

all my mules expired(stupid me not takeing time to play the 2 hrs :grrr: ) but much to my surprise i could still get on the charicters and everything was still on them,and then they just said "expires on 10 days" juth thought this was odd :scratch:

If you do like this with id on right mouse you will see all the chars doing funny moves. I think the pala's humping move is the best :)
Forstwind has the same bug as flamebellow. Seems a secret gift made by Blizzard. :lady:

I don't know about claw vipers or succubi, but the dmg from gloams is indeed bugged. As someone else previously mentioned in this post, gloams are supposed to have the mana drain ability (you can see this when you highlight them). However, this mana drain is bugged because the amount removed is mistakenly taken from your health bar, causing you to take much more damage than you should. The reason that this does not trigger against a druid's cyclone armor is apparently because, since the lightning bolt is a pure elemental attack, the mana drain does not work if it does not hit for damage.

1. Slow casting speed when equipped with full Trang-Oul set. This is a known, confirmed bug. From the Arreat Summit - "Note: wearing this set will increase casting delay resulting in slower casting (even with fast cast items). This is a bug and has been reported"
another bug ive noticed!
this one has to do with skill granting pieces of equipment. Sometimes ill hit my hotkey for teleport on my hammerdin (granted buy enigma) and the skill WILL NOT come up. i check my right click skills and tele isnt there. ive been able to fix this by taking it off then putting enigma back on. still kinda scary when it happens
This is something kinda weird that has to do with both of these:
When i'm wearing the full trang-set, I'll sometimes take a wp and end up on the other side not in the form of the vampire. I checked my items and I still had all my set bonuses. If I simply take off an item and put it back on I turn back into a vampire. I think this does have to do with the strength bonuses that I need from the trang-shield to equip the helm and belt. However I still have all my gear equipped and my firewall, meteor, and fireball hotkeys still work. I notice while i'm not a vampire when I come out of a wp I have normal FCR but when I take off an item and put it back on its back to extremely slow FCR again.
Just thought I'd put in my 2 cents....... :spy:
My barbarian which I have just started has level 6 double swing, which, according to the tables on battle.net, ought to mean that it uses no mana, but it's definitely using up mana the way it used to in 1.09. anyone else found this?

% absorb in 1.10 is capped at 40%. You would have to use a lot of X absorb to become immune.
Willowisp attacks are not a problem for a barbarian anyway since they have so much life.
Town portal problem: As discussed there does not seem to be a real problem. Just don't store a tome in you stash. Personally I don't use tomes, they take up too much space. I use my belt for scrolls.
BTW Here is another bug which I believe is an old one. I just lost one of my best charms due to it :
15. Dropping horadric cube to empty it can result in game crash. This is especially annoying if you have some nice items in it.

I don't think the amount of mana that gloams drain is bugged, just that the mana drain doesn't take into account your character's lightning resist to reduce the drain. Although I am not sure about this, I do know that energy shield now works in this way (damage taken to energy shield is subtracted from mana using base resists rather than item-enhanced resists), and it is possible that the gloams bypass resistances similarly, since the mana drain is based on an elemental attack.

I could be mistaken but IIRC the necros bone armor absorbs it. My necs' bone armor does as I recall.
One other bug I've noticed having to do with the merc... if your merc is getting life from Oak Sage and he levels up, he'll go back down to base life and not regen life anymore. There are a couple ways to fix this: visit a town healer, get rid of the oak sage and recast, or let the merc take damage. Then he will start regenerating life again.

I was on a baal run and unpartied Player B went hostile before I was able to take a portal to the throne made by a partied Player A. I was not able to take the portal. When I clicked the unhostile button on Player B, I was able to go down the portal made by Player A.
Also, a couple of games later, I experienced the death bug that ppl mentioned earlier. I could not rejoin any games with that character, but other characters on the same account could make and join games.

i tried it out manually to see and yes it works i bought a grinding anicent sword from lazurk cost 12k sold it for 35k and did it over and over fastest way of doing it was going to act2 and selling it back to a non weapon vendor

There is no physical damage in gloam lightning attack whatsoever.. Easy to prove:
1.Necro casts bone armor then gets hit by a gloam- bone armor still intact and takes no damage while the necro loses hp.).
Are you talking about the first attack (melee) or second (lightning)? If the melee then it's simply a matter of having a high bone armor and relatively low damage of their physical attack. If the second, obviously the physical-absorption basis of the armor isn't going to take damage, but even if it had physically-enhanced damage (instead of the mana-burn--enhanced) then it's still a matter of low physical damage.
2.Equip yourself with a tgods and guardian angel to get 95% resist lightning and +numerical absorb. Watch the gloam lightning heal u.
I currently have a Vengeance Paladin making his way to Hell Act 5 but in need of a gear change. We'll see how 95% with absorb works, but I don't think that answers either question.
3.Druid with cyclone armor takes no damage from gloam attacks while the cyclone armor is still intact.
I don't believe this shows if the lightning attack has either mana-burn or physical-enhanced damage, since the physical enhancement can still take a lightning-based form and could be negated by the armor. Again, bugs work wonders, you can't make logical predictions because of them.
If I were to do so I'd be more likely to agree that there is no physical but indeed mana-burn on one basis: I distinctly remember Wisps doing mana-burn with their lightning attacks in .09, yet - with my Paladin having 75% lightning resistance and 25% absorb from Lightsabre - I lose no mana from that particular attack, only from their melee. Yet I do take damage, considerable damage, that can't be physical since he also has 53%PDR (Shaftstop, Rockstopper and String Of Ears).

Disagree and agree. As stated above I meet the 75%/25% resistance/absorb border and still take damage from Wisp lightning. If you'd like to inform me how I'm calculating it wrong let me know.
As for the Witches, I can attest since my first - and so far only one of a few - deaths since Baal running with this Paladin in his new gear (minus Exile) is due to them. Those which are ItPh are a serious pain, but since only MDR works I thought I was protected by the String and Dwarf Star... wrong.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I bought a fools halberd of readiness for 23k, and can only sell it for 18k. Any idea of what's wrong?

There's another bug and i remember some1 have mentioned. When using full Tal's set and die in a game, picking up your corpse doesn't restore the +50 resist all bonus of the set as is displayed. I know it because my sorc takes more then the dmg gloams shoud do.

7. Gloams/black souls do too much damage with their lightning attack. Their melee damage is incorrectly added to their ranged attack.
I'd like to challenge this theory, and any others posed as to the Willowisp damage. While it's true they do a lot more damage than they probably should, I think there's also something seriously altered with regards to absorb.
After a bunch of Souls killed most of the party I was in, and tried leading them away until I died (I had just leveled, so no big deal). I re-entered the game with my Sacrificial Zealot, the one I explained in another thread had 75% LRes and 25% LAbs.
In pre-.10 I gained life from all lightning attacks, as that was the entire idea in having a Lightsabre, but now I only gain life in normal difficulty. I take no damage but lose no life in nightmare, while in hell I lose life from ANY lightning source - even Baal's idle-lightning attack.
I gave an opinion that, like leech, absorb had been halved in nightmare and quartered in hell. I think I've all but proven it to myself and I'd like some testing from others to confirm or deny this. Unless all lightning is bugged I think souls just are abhorantly powerful.
BTW: To those that believe the Grinding/Fool's repurchase bug was a 'cheat', you're incorrect. Abusive? Maybe, but a cheat requires an active part of the player to do something not ordinarily possible to give an advantage over others. Since no one had to do anything except SELL an item with this prefix on it (if you did it once, even to test, that would make you a cheater) and ANYONE could do it, it neither is an active attempt at thwarting the programmers nor does it give an unfair playing ground. Either way, it's fixed now.

Runewords work just fine. If they don't work and you're sure you put them in in the right order, you probably tried to make a runeword in a magical, rare or set armor. Runewords *ONLY* work in normal socketed items.

As zaanpenguin said, make sure to follow all the rules of making runewords... especially as regards to Heart of the Oak, where not all mace class weapons work.
If you aren't playing online, you can back up your character if you really don't want to lose your runes. Some might consider this cheating, but if there really is a bug then I would consider it a necessary precaution instead.

It would be helpful if you said what words you attempted to make.

I play D2X Multiplayer and have lost several suits of armor, a sword, a charm and some runes. Two of the items (a suit of armor and a sword) have been upon just restarting the game, not dying but just exiting and reentering. Is this a normal feature of hell or a bug in v1.10?? Whatever it is, it's getting really annoying really fast.

My point was that he never made it clear whether he had LoD or not. If he does not, as he seems to say, then I don't know how he managed to get runes in the first place. If he does have LoD, which he never makes clear, then I wanted to know what he meant by "not buying anything LOD related".
He makes it sound as though he has found runes in both 1.10 and pre-1.10, and that he was able to make runewords pre-1.10, meaning that he has LoD.
Also, my point about HotO is that the runeword doesn't work in all mace class items. For example, it will not work in a 4 socket war hammer, even though it does display "mace class weapon" as its item type.

This could possibly expain the armor or the sword (even though I know that they were both well with in my ability scores.) but what about the charm and the runes...neither had any ability requirements so they weren't beyond my abilities. They were just, gone...

You cannot use the +attribute qualities on the item you're trying to equip in order to equip it.... If you tried to do this experiment, you would only have Stormshield on while you still had 186 or greater strength. Once you removed the charms, Stormshield would still remain in your shield slot, but it would have a red background and you would not gain any of the benefits from it.
However, you can use +strength items (not charms) other than Stormshield to get up to 156 strength, and that causes you to not pick up some items when you retrieve your corpse. For example: You have 136 strength. You then equip IK gauntlets to enable you to wear Stormshield. You equip Stormshield and, keeping IK gauntlets on, you die. Now your strength is back at 136. When you go to retrieve your corpse, if your inventory has a 2x3 slot open, Stormshield will be put there once you get your corpse. If you do not have sufficent space in your inventory, however, your corpse will remain on the ground holding only Stormshield. If you die again and exit the game, the body that reappears in town will probably be the second corpse (assuming the rest of your items are worth more gold than your Stormshield), and you have lost your Stormshield forever.
This doesn't answer how the items disappeared, though. Even if floating items were the problem, this couldn't happen for the charm (and presumably the runes as well - I'm assuming they weren't in an item) because the charm is not equipped and thus does not become part of the corpse created when you die. Also, he said that he didn't die, just left and reentered....
Incidentally, you can avoid the floating items problem if you just double-click on your corpse instead of only collecting it once. This doesn't help if you die between the first and second clicks, though.

This isn't true anymore. While it may have been in Classic, and fixed in Expansion pre-.10, there is now a floating item issue again in D2.
My whirlwinder used this trick to wear Silks Of The Victor and was fine for a while. Some time later I decided to do more normal Baal runs and discovered I wasn't leeching mana like I was supposed to. Since my only source of ML was the armor I removed it and tried putting it back on. I had to leave the game and create another with the armor still on my cursor because he didn't have the base strength to wear it anymore.
I use charms at the beginning of every game to activate the Immortal King's Forge/Detail/Pillar and, therefore, wear the armor. Never had a problem until midway through these Baal runs. I decided to put my strength to 90 and, with the bonus from The Ward, I was easily able to wear it from that point on - no leech issue thereafter. The armor didn't show up as unwearable but an attribute of it (5% mana stealing) didn't seem to work. My defense was properly listed, as well.
As for items disappearing, I can think of only three reasons: rollbacks, Rust Storm and hacks - directly or indirectly (theft or server data corruption).
If you owned these items for some time and nothing you placed on the character after that disappeared I'd rule out rollbacks. If you found these items and they were so insignificant that even a poorly-written verification program couldn't consider them dupe material I'd rule out Rust Storm. For the lack of another answer I'm more likely to simply throw it in the server data corruption bin. Fortunately, it's never happened to me so I can't respond with first-hand experience.

i was reading this thread while waiting for a reply in my other thread. i don't come here very often, but i hope my info clears some things up:
1. gloam (and many others) bugged elemental damage: from what i can gather/observe, the monster's base physical damage is tacked onto the elemental damage being done. this is why gloams can drain mana with lightning damage, as well as bloodlords leeching with their fireball. supposedly, these effects are only available when these monsters melee, but are obviously being done during elemental attacks.
2. leech bug: it seems that after all penaties, leech does not work properly if the % is less than 2, and no leech occurs at all if it is below 1%. so, you must have 8% leech in hell to see any gain, although the blue/red leech graphic will occur.
3. "floating" str bug: seems to work only if 3 items are involved, eg: war travs, stormshield, and 1 other item. i have not been able to duplicate it with only 2 items.
4. double clicking on corpse: yes it will still occur. the whole point in using floating say str is to be able to not use items that you only need to eq other items. so, if your str ring is in your stash, double clicking will not allow you to wear/wield something that you don't have the str for.

I've found a bug involving the Mav. Bow and the Gut Siphon xbow. It may better if I say what happened to explain this bug.
I have freezing arrow set for my right click on my mav set and multiple shots set as right click on my on weapon swap (Gut Siphon). How about the Fend Bug(s) (Whiffing every attack due to first attack failing the AR check and/or a successful Dodge / Evade / Avoid requiring you to move from your location for any following Fends to connect)?
That skill's been broken since the day D2 came out...
And, while I'm on the subject of Amazon spear skills, is it too much to ask for Impale to have a percentile gain for an uninterruptible attack? With its currently abysmal attack speed, I'd say its failure to finish the blow makes it a "bug", too.
3. "floating" str bug: seems to work only if 3 items are involved, eg: war travs, stormshield, and 1 other item. i have not been able to duplicate it with only 2 items.
Currently remaking my pala, without any str points in it (till now 20 in dex rest in vita (lvl 78 atm)).
Q about the str bug, do i understand good that you need 3x +str items to let it work properly? Caus i dont have any problems, but i have 3 or more ithink.

Its pretty simple really.
I used to think it was cool to leave my computers clock unchanged, so it always gave the year as 1904 (it has given that year for the past 3 1/2).
While in Tech Support recently I took the opportunity to ask why all my chars were always expired and, hey presto! they gave me the solution.
Use the correct date and all is well.

This is not a Gut Siphon bug, it's a quickkey bug with - so far - no discernable cause. It's related to the loss-of-quickkey bug many people have when binding a charged item or such. The quickkey code was apparantly modified in .10 and, as such, many bugs have formed from it. It happens with the life tap charges on my wand, with auras on Paladins, etc. It may be related to +skills/charges on swappable items, i.e. if you have an aura on switch and shield you carry enhances that aura or the charged weapon I spoke of, but without further study I'm unsure of the actual cause.
And it's not likely necessary to figure it out anyway. You won't change the items you use because Blizzard screwed up, you'll just have to deal with their screw-up, and Blizzard will either fix it or won't (leaning toward the latter) and they're not likely to use us to help.

This may be a clock-related issue. Check your clock and see if alterations have been made on your system or your friend's system. If you can still play them and they weren't close to being expired then Battle.net's time is correct (they apparantly give 12 days and five minutes since last use of an unset character, i.e. one not played for the minimum two hours, not 11 days and five minutes as it states - Blizzard's way of being nice). If the characters were nowhere near expired since last you checked then it's a clock issue, probably yours since the client checks last use and prints the alotted time left.

Confuse doesn't change allegiances of monsters and, therefore, doesn't allow you to gain experience for kills made by it, last I checked. You were not the cause of their death, a fellow monster was. Same is true for berserked spawns that explode of their own accord; no experience if they do but you get experience from them if you kill them before they voluntarily suicide. Difficult for melee characters to do, though.
As for Baal's waves not spawning, there are many reasons for this, and the going theory from BTS is it's Paladin/Necromancer related. If there were no characters of these two classes in the games (usually it's a Paladin wearing Delerium) then it's merely related or yet another reason it happens.

Runes do not exist in classic D2. The only error I can think that may be occuring and has not been mentioned already is that you must fill up the sockets. A three rune word can only be used in items with three sockets. If there is a fourth, it won't work.
purchase a weapon with the "grinding" or "fools" prefix from an NPC
{weapon with dmg per lvl or dmg per lvl +ar per lvl}
equip the item
click on sell button on npc
click on the item
and just repeat over and over
This trick only works off realm now. Blizzard fixed it.
Another bug is with Zeal, Fend and Fury. If you are getting hit in a serie of swings the rest of themwill miss automatically - was also a bug in the beta.
An old bug is the merc+BO bug. Whenever a merc with BO levels he looses as much lives as BO gives.

Probably. Anyway here is an update :
Gameplay :
1. Andariel drop bug. If after killing her for the first time you talk to town NPC, then everyone time after she drops as if you were killing her for the first time (enhanced drop).
2. Opening a chest in a corner can move you behind the chest, and stuck unable to move if no teleport. This is most annoying for a necro since you have to rejoin the game.
3. ed/max ed/min jewels do not add ed in armour including shield, but do work in weapon. Can anyone confirm if this a display bug or full bug ? Armor_biff claims this still work on mercs ?
4. Upgrades of ethereal armour do not gain the defense bonus.
5. Changing attack in the middle of a leap attack can leave you stuck unable to leap attack. Another cause is being stunned during the leap.
6. Charges in items add synergy bonus if no point shave been placed in the spell. Examples are MarrowWalk for L33 Bone Prison, and Baezil's vortex for L15 Nova, Metalgrid for Level 22 Iron Golem.
Can anyone confirm if this affects % chance to cast, eg wield Boneslayer Blade for Level 20 Holy Bolt, and wear Thundergod's Vigor 5% Chance To Cast Level 7 Fist Of The Heavens When Struck, does this increase bolt damage by 300% ?
7. Gloams/black souls do too much damage with their lightning attack. Their melee damage is incorrectly added to their ranged attack.
8. war travelers damage bug - only one case so far (saint_of_killers), cause not determined, possible nerfing by Blizzard of duped items (yay) or individual item corruption.
9. Charge bug.
10. When merc levels up, Battle Orders and Oak Sage turn off.
11. Ctrl+left click any item that cannot be sold results in disconnect.
12. Display bug : When not having the sufficient amount of strength/dex but having enough through an item bonus, some items equipped might not appear to other players.
13. Flamebellow bug: casting inferno and leaping causes you to become almost a "ghost", unhitable by attacks but unable to hit anything yourself. It's a useless item anyway.
14. Sometimes Baal doesn't spawn his minions. There are a number of causes, main one being leftover bone wall.
15. Leapers hit with cold attacks will sometimes be left alive with 1 hit point, will sitll attack you but cannot be attacked.
16. Hotkey problem with tomes - just don't keep a tome in your stash.
Realm :
1. Switch accounts/characters too quick can leave you with REALM DOWN for 3 minutes. Fast computers are more susceptible to this.
2. Occasionally, death crashes the game and leaves you with REALM DOWN for 60 minutes and not dead.
3. In certain places such as opening door coming back from Outer Cloister you can be running still, which can be used to keep the game open. Can anyone confirm this as a Realm or Game issue ?
4. WW sometimes gets broken such that when you try to whirl you do not move or attack, you just whirl in place. Rejoining game fixes. Can anyone confirm this as a Realm or Game issue ? Has anyone had this bug on less than speed 8 hits/whirls ?
5. Games still crash as much as they used to in 1.09 - watch out muling. Anyone get game crashes in SP ?
6. Moving items from/to cube a lot can leave you stuck unable to select any objects on the ground or NPCs. Rejoining game fixes. Another cause is spamming a certain spell eg telekinesis (DarkY).
Fixed bugs:
1. Diablo clone no longer dies to Shenk/Blood Raven death explosion.
2. Grinding sell bug fixed.
Unconfirmed game bugs :
1. As in 1.09, drops are not distributed perfectly randomly. Same base type drops seem to occur quite a lot, especially for drops within the same second, eg 2 set rings, set CB + unique CB, 2 elite uniques from 2 monsters in the same second. It may be Blizzard is using the clock as part of the random seed. This might also explain why you get periods of time where drops are huge, and periods when drops are terrible. (Yes I have studied Statistical Mathematics so I understand random distributions.)
I also may be hidden MF penalties are being applied to short games to penalise potential botters.
Another theory is based on time of day/date. Anyone remember Dungeon Keeper used to reveal secret levels on certain days of the year.
2. Ranged attacks may deal damage when hitting people IN TOWN. happyface95 can you be a bit more specific please, eg do you mean being chased by guided arrows ?
3. Fire arrows from skeleton rogues seem to do way more damage than cold arrows.

There's a bug with the displayed damage of the Barbarian Skill Double Throw. It's been unconfirmed just how much of a discrepency(sp?) there is, but people have said that they've seen a displayed damage of up to 13k and only actually doing 1.5 - 2.5kish damage.
I'd actually be interested if someone would be willing to test this out and see if we can find just how far off the actual damage is. I have a pure thrower with max double swing and double throw. PM me or something if you'd be willing to test this specific bug out and see if we can put an exact number with it.
Edit: This is what someone posted in the Barbarian Strategy Forum regarding it:
bascially the ed from synergy and mastery for throwing is displayed to apply to OVERALL damage. lets say ur jav did 20 max damage, u have 300 dex and 100% ed from mastery, that means u should do 20 * ( 1 + 3dex + 1mastery) = 100 damage.
however, its bugged to show 20 * (1 + 3dex) * (1 + 1mastery) for 160 damage displayed. at higher throwing eds, this disparity grows larger and larger.
my throwing doing 13k displayed did about 2500 in "real" damage.

OK here's 3:
My Bowazon was able to bind charges of Cloak of Shadows to a hotkey that was permanent until she died. My Tankazon must re-bind her charges of Spirit of Wolverine, Poison Creeper and Confuse every game.
This has happened twice, both lasted for over an hour. Make a game and unable to interact with environment in any way, mouse hover does not work, and a click in any direction will cause character to walk to the bottom left of screen until blocked by a wall or something. The walk cannot be stopped and any change of direction only lasts for 1-2 steps before char continues making a bee-line for the bottom left. Once this happens, it carries over to every game for an hour or more then spontaneously fixes itself. I have checked my hardware (I thought maybe a hair on optical mouse or something, maybe a keyboard issue), and nothing I did fixed it.
Sometimes when dying, and after pressing Esc, character appears naked, standing on top of body unable to do anything other than exit the game. This has happened to me a couple of times in Arcane Sanctuary and at least one other area (I forget where).
2. Previously selected attack type may be used first time after a new attack type has been selected. E.G. Paladin has been using Charge attack on left mouse button. When entering area with Oblivion Knights and their nasty Iron Maiden curses, left buton skill is switched to Holy Bolt. First attack after switching to Holy Bolt actually comes out as a Charge. (Murphy's law is usually in effect when this sort of thing happens and Pally will be hit with IM and die.) This only happens on occasion and I haven't determined what causes it. I just tried quickly to get this to happen and had no success. Unless someone else can testify this happens to them, this one should be listed as unconfirmed.
Something similar has frequently happened to me. My Tankazon has only 4 used skills (not counting charges) on 'right-click' - Valkyrie, Decoy, Slow Missiles and Throw. My weapon switch (Gimmershred - Yay Gimmershred) is always set to throw. If I do a quick switch and attempt to throw I get the SOUND EFFECT of Decoy or SM or whatever, but not the actual cast, or even animation. I don't throw for that attempt either.
3. Fire arrows from skeleton rogues seem to do way more damage than cold arrows.
Enemy Fire Arrows seem to always have a hich chance of CS/DS, I havn't ever, to my recollection, seen a Cold Arrow with DS.

What about the Anya bug?
Most say this was fixed in 1.10 I know,
but myself and others have tested a few times recently.
After dying in a game, you lose the bonus resistances given
to you from the Anya quest. In private duels at least, this causes
a lot to leave and rejoin the game, which fixes it 'til they die again.

I'm not certain if anyone else has noticed this bug, still not confirmed if it's a graphics bug or actually affects the game. When I have a valkyrie active, any curse or aura which inflicted on her by by monsters is reflected back at them, graphically at least. This is most noticable with Conviction as in this screen shot

Then, for an unknown reason, she shot up to level 45, has over 100 dex, 88 str, 500 hp, and 500 armor. I dont play online, yet i did download the latest patch. Im legititmate and dont understand if this is a bug or just my ignorance, but im pretty sure mercenaries arent suppossed to gain 30 instantly.

Were you playing in hell difficulty level when this happened? Any chance you accidentally replaced her while talking to Kashya?

No, I had just recently started the game actually, which i why i was shocked to find her at level 45 already, as I was about level 18, in Normal difficulty
This bug isn't proven yet, but I'm pretty sure it's out there.
If you put a +5 str large charm other players in the game sometimes can't see what your using. I was playing with a friends zon who had a gothic plate on. I know he was using it because I gave it to him. He couldn't use it so I gave him a +5 to str large charm, but I started to wonder why it looked like he just had his crown on and nothing else. I thought he was just being stupid and let it go.
Couple of days later I was playing with a non-idiot in a pick up game and we traded for sig shield and helm. I couldn't use them yet cuss I needed 4 more str so he tosses in a +5 str large charm free. So I throw it on and he's like why arn't you using it? After a troubleshooting test we give up looking for what's causing the bug. He then asks me for the +5 str large charm back because he needs 1 more str to use something, and he then gives me a +4 str charm.
Well, loe and behold he could see me sigs, but I couldn't see stuff.

This bug has been reported several times already. It not only goes for Charms, but for all items that give you strength allowing you to use items that you cannot equip otherwise.
the bug with telekiness is fixed.
But still, alot of drops/hangs/cant click anything anymore/etc.
Especially with gems/jews.

My amazon just killed Pindleskin, and while picking up the items, was killed by fire damage. The death message stated that she was killed by Pindleskin, but he had been dead for about 30 seconds. I have seen this before on a barbarian I had, but he only took minor damage from it. This was at least 790 damage just from walking in the area of his death explosion. Has anyone else seen this?
This is something kinda weird that has to do with both of these:
When i'm wearing the full trang-set, I'll sometimes take a wp and end up on the other side not in the form of the vampire. I checked my items and I still had all my set bonuses. If I simply take off an item and put it back on I turn back into a vampire. I think this does have to do with the strength bonuses that I need from the trang-shield to equip the helm and belt. However I still have all my gear equipped and my firewall, meteor, and fireball hotkeys still work. I notice while i'm not a vampire when I come out of a wp I have normal FCR but when I take off an item and put it back on its back to extremely slow FCR again.

I just tested it and noticed that I kept at least the res and skill bonuses of the full set (possibly all, lazy to check) after the WP travel. I also tested the cast rate and it seems you assumed right, I do cast faster when in normal form, I also keep the full set bonuses. Counterexploit of a reported bug? :F
EDIT: It seems it takes about 20 seconds until I'm converted back to vampire form so I don't know if it'll be useful for exploiting anyway.

not sure if this is a bug or just weird dmg calculations or what. but my zon uses wf+upped witchwild and crown of thieves (40/15 ias...but not upped!) and a 120/45 MAX life helm (i know it doesn't work, but...)
the 120/45 helm increases the dmg on the witchwild over the crown (by 200-300 roughly), but the 120/45 helm DECREASES the dmg on the wf compared to the crown (by 100-200 roughly).
i doubt it's a bug since ed/max are already bugged, but the only thing i can think of is that the +dex on the crown somehow doesn't go as far on something w/ moderately low damage such as the upped witchwild as compared to a high dmg weapon. it obviously can't be the ed/max mods since they work incorrectly (but has anyone figured out HOW they are incorrect? cuz they add damage still...just not as much as they should).
i think in simple terms: low dmg weapon gets higher boost from something that shouldn't work :scratch:

This is an old issue, though I thought they would have fixed it in 1.10.
The theory goes like this:
Pindleskin is one of those skeletons that revive themselves from death after 30 seconds or so. Since Pindleskin is a unique monster it shouldn't respawn from death (though for item finders this might sound like a good thing) so the developers put in a piece of code into this type of monster that says "If I am Respawning and I am Pindleskin, autokill me". With the autokill, then you don't see Pindleskin come back, BUT, since he was Fire Enchanted (in your case) the death of Pindleskin causes the fire damage at death to be reapplied. Thus killing your character.
I don't know if the theory is correct or not, but I have seen this phenomena happen several times (I used to do 500%+ MF runs in 1.09) and found that it is safer to heal up and/or wait 1-2 minutes before picking through Pindleskins remains.

I did not see it before in 1.10, though I did see it in earlier versions. Some barrels were placed on the other side of the wall, at a place where there was no accessible are. This happened in the Mausoleum, not in the Jail where there are secret doors. I don't know whethere this is a realm only bug, I mainly play single player and did not encounter it, now that I went onto the realms (Europe expansion hardcore ladder), I did get this bug.

That's easy enough to fix, tell him to change his date to the present. He probably has it set earlier and is causing his characters to show as expired. D2 uses your computer's clock to compare expiry dates.
Not sure if it's just a display bug, but my stamina bar doesn't fill up, even when heailing at a vendor. I have a barb with 1 skill point in Increased Stamina, no items that increase stamina or Vitality. However, the part that doesn't fill up is less then 1/3 of the bar.

This is half bug, half design flaw. It only applies to Act 1 & 2
Normal Mercs.
The exp brackets for Act 1 & 2 mercs are too broad at certain
levels (abt 10-16). It can cost more for a merc to go up than
for the player character at those levels. This causes the merc
to fall farther and farther behind. Typically by the time a player
character leaves act 2 the merc is at least 4 levels behind and
can not EVER catch up under normal play. This blows. You should
not have to spend significant time leveling a merc under normal
conditions.
There also may be a problem with the difference in levels
between player character and merc. When I am 3 or more
levels higher than my Act 2 Merc he gets less exp than when
I am only a level higher.

I'm not entirely sure how or why this happens, but my old necro (now non-ladder) was totally immune to hydra attacks by the council members in Durance 3 well over half of the times. I have a fire resist of 75% with about 10% "overlap" (I.E. a total of 85% resist, but no +max resist items) and no fire absord or damage reduction of any kind.
Strangely enough, if I would confront Bartuc and his bunch in the Throneroom in the same game, their hydras would hurt me just fine (albeit not -much-).
I actually went and checked by holding my cursor over the life ball, standing in the middle of a bunch of hydras in Durance 3 and not losing a single hitpoint. While on my second and third try they DID hurt, fourth one I was immune again etc.
Note that this certainly did NOT apply to the meteors I tried to headbutt in a later experiment ;)
I'm not sure if this happens to anyone else, but I use an Enigma for my Paladin, and now, about 50% of the time when I switch acts, or go from town to the durance or any other way point outside of a town, my teleport skill disappears. I have it hotkeyed and everything, it just simply isn't there. I have to pick up Enigma and put it back on. It's kind of annoying but not really a problem unless I'm trapped against a wall by 500 undead monsters and need to tele out..but that's the only one I can think of that hasn't been mentioned.

This bug has been reported several times already. It not only goes for Charms, but for all items that give you strength allowing you to use items that you cannot equip otherwise.
According to my tests it only happens with charms, not with items, that have +str or +dex.
The reason may be that info about your charms is not sent to all players in the game since they are in your inventory. (That is also why mh doesn't show them as far as i know :idea: ). So the other clients just think you dont have enough stats to equip the item.
However this can be fixed by switching items: equiping extra +str/dex items and then taking them off again. (So if you rely on charms for str., if you quickly put on a +str amu and take it off - other people in the game will suddenly see your items even though you still need charms to equip them after taking off the amu :sleep: ). The problem is this isn't permanent... you need to do it every time you join a game and everytime someone else joins a game for them to see your items.
I have seen two notable bugs with Baal.
1) He seemed to spawn as his floor 3 version...after finishing round 2 of the baal run, he stopped pumping out his minions. He just kept laughing, over and over again, and throwing endless amounts of poison and lightning, as well as curses. We all went to town...no sucess. We moved all portals outside the throne room, and went to town...nope. Then we ran around like chickens with our heads cut off a bit...and by some trick of fate, he spawned the next two waves...however, when it came to Lister and friends, the same thing happened! (It was amusing seeing a 61 sorceress get killed by Baal's lightning...I felt she deserved it, seeing as how the game name said "80up" (Not that anybody respects such suggestions) and I generally feel you shouldn't leave nightmare until 70...but whatever)...so we did various stuff, ran around like chickens with our heads cut off some more...and boom, sucess. Finished lister off, everyone left, but I felt like hitting up Baal (I love killing him...I wish I had a frozen knockback like he does...)...and lo and behold...all he did was laugh at me and poison me! I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off some more, and finally decided to try going to floor 3. On floor 3, I waited until he shot me with some more poison (I really do hate poison...)...and when I went back down...he successfully retreated into his portal and allowed me to kill him! Woo hoo! I have killed Baal no fewer than 20 times alone, and done a minimum of 100 runs...seen this happen once. It was more of a "haha, what are you doing?" thing then a "Damn that's annoying" thing...but whatever...
And now for 2:
I killed Baal on his platform, at the lower corner. There were 4 of us in the game, 2 people MFing, but said "Here, you kill Baal, we need the quest finished but would rather MF...", and one person Afk. I was thinking along the lines of "Gee, thanks for the privilage", but whatever, I like killing Baal, and I figured giving them the quest completion was no big deal. So I killed Baal (yay, more horrible rares, a 4th cathan's seal, bad unique...) right at the lower corner. I couldn't fit below him that's how jammed in there he was. Well, guess where the portal spawned? Off the platform by about an inch on the monitor...I had done the quest already, but thought it odd, so I tried clicking on it. Rather then the normal "Impossible!" exclimation, it told me nothing. Nothing at all. I then called the MFer's over, and they tried getting through the portal...nothing...one was a sorceress...and she tried activating it using telekensis...and no luck there, either. It's not really a major issue...but more of a "Okay, why is this happening...?" type of thing.
I thout this would be the best pace to post this but sometimes my mana orb turns off unexpetecly or dosent turn on at all and it should be on for almost a hour can some one till me if this is a but thx o and sry for my spelling :lol:
Quest items are not difficulty dependent as they were supposed to be.
Drop a NM Horadric Staff on the ground in Normal and you will not be able
pick it up again.

I dont know if thi is considered a bug or some sort of hack or sumthin', buut i was in a duel game with a sorc. I decided to duuel her, i stepped out, and a stream of fireballs kills me. The fireballs came out so fast that they overlapped, creating a solid unbroken stream of firerballs. I figuured i was laggin, so i teleported beside her and orbed. She was instantly beside meand i saw over 5 novas all around her at once, i got away from that and she killed me with a stream of ice blasts the same as the fireballs.
So thats all pretty bad, but then she cast meteor on me, and naturallyl i teleported away. The instant i moved i saw arouund 8 meteors fall to the ground one after another, less than a split second in between each. She seemed to have infinite fast cast and something that nulified the cool-down time...it was REALLY odd, and i remember her saying that she was not cheatinig, juust correcting errors in the packets or somthin'.
Anyone have a clue wtf was goin' on?

I play SP on my 500 MHz iBook (Mac laptop). When my Barb attempts to wear a class specific helmet, Lod 1.10 crashes the program and the system. This occurs on Mac OS OS 9.2.2 but not Mac OS X. Lod is so sluggish on my iBook that is unplayable. I need a faster machine. :idea: I have not observed this bug with my Javazon so it seems to be specific to the Barbs. I lost some nice equipment to this crash. Blizzard suggest a complete reload of LoD when I reported this bug, but I had rebuilt my game partition recently.
The other bug is a display bug. Doors that appear closed may be open. I have seen this in both A1 jails and A2 tombs. It is a bit annoying to be attacked through a closed door.

This is related to the "4b" packet exploit going around and I am not certain if blizzard has patched it. Among other things it can rapidly cast spells/attack/shoot and rapidly change the environment to/from day/night. Many of the projectiles that come out quickly at you due to this exploit are just client side images and will not do damage.
