I would use eth shaft, only thing glads has is bit higher def and cannot be frozen, but shaft has life, nice def, dr.

Shaft's Dr would reduce the amount of time the merc spends in Hit recovery animation just because it'll reduce the occurence of him losing more than 1/12 of his life in 1 shot.

But... I stick with what I've said.

To truly take advantage of those differences in Armor Def, it takes Edef% from a Skill... A Druid's only real choice for that is a Defiance Merc.... So Since it's not, concentrate on things other than def. Def is only worth the effort if you go extreme to see actual differences.

CBF is the only thing lacking for the Merc.... but if he encounters that, you can always give him support so he's not completely crushed because he's slightly slower.

Shaft is the way I'd go. Final Answer.

Shaft is most likly the better choice. Put a Kira's on him for CBF, FHR and resist
