View Full Version : IK whirler... which ammy?

hey guys, i've been reading a few posts around here and had a question on what amulet to use for my IK whirler.

This is straight PvM btw.

cresent moon or highlords?

I have both and initially intended to use cresent moon. I know that IK set has 10% dual leech but I didn't know if 10% is enough to keep you whirling in hell with the monster mana cost on whirl. He is act 4 nightmare right now so i dont have much longer to think about it.


so... is 10% from the set enough and I would be better served with a highlords (for skills and deadly strike) or would i be better off with the moon and keeping my 23% mana leech after set bonuses :)

You won't need the mana leech. Go w/ the highlord's.

really? hmm...


aight, i'll mule that over lol. I was under the impression that you'd need more mana leech for hell though since whirl uses 30+ mana and leech is cut to 1/4 in hell :P

IK glove gives you 10% leech. You'll be doing a few thousand of pts per whirl, and even one hit will give you the mana back for the whirl itself. I never had problems until I hit mana drainers...

Highlords would be the superior, not only for reasons previously stated but for its resist,skill and other mods. But remember the % leech depends on the damage that you do, so the deadly stike on highlords would in a sense double the ammount of life/mana you leech when it hits.

At the time I'm wearing a Mahm-Oak amulet with my Ik WW Barb.. (Yes, I know it sucks but I can't wear my Ik maul without it since it gives +10 to all attr.).. Anyway Mahm-Oak doesn't give you any leech so I only have the dual leech from my Ik gauntlets, which is (at least for me) plenty enough.. I never run out of mana when using WW and I also get life pretty fast so I'd suggest getiing a Highlord's instead of a Crescent Moon.. I have one Moon in my stash too but I'm already thinking of getting a Highlord since I don't really need anymore leech.. :idea:

I got full set, and I aint go no leech from anything from this set. I'm having to revert to fiinding a ravenspiral, or somthing with duel leech on it. But never heard of leech from the set.
Even the Item-Set catagory from Dii.net home page then on to the IK set, dosnt show finished stats saying life/mana leech?

wow, figures that would change..but sure would help out alot. They should update the set-item displays, form the homepage of Dii.
