The best I've ever gotten is a pair of sandstorm trek, but I've only run it maybe 14 times anyway.

IK Armor, SoJ, Titan's, Jah rune, Vipermagi and that is about it in terms of useful items in well over 100 runs now. Less useful but still elite are Flamebellow, the unique trolls nest, and the unique ettin axe. I'm however extremely patient and will run it until I find my pally a Crown of the Ages.

I have a BH pally running around with an upgraded Goldwrap, ethereal ali baba, P-topazed rockstopper, rare boots and gloves with mf and resists, 32 Geeds...all in all I end up with somewhere in the range of 315 mf I would say, can't check right now, I'm at work. My luck tends to run in spurts. I'll find several very nice items one day and the next I'll get a load of crappy rares with crap mods (with one exception of a 426% ED axe that got upgraded to a berserker axe.)

P.S. Claw- I too have found Mav's Diadem but it dropped for me off of some unique monster in the River of Flame while I was being a moron and doing my BH pallys rune quest (crap, another lem) with no one else around. I've been quite lucky with my near death experiences. Oh this is hc so if you were trying to figure out why I said I was being stupid doing it alone that should explain it.

What is with you guys and finding items? In like 20 runs I've found 2 uniques and it was only a tomb carver. I've found no runes with 250MF so what the heck are you doing? I've gotten no items yet at all off of 30 eld/pindle runs either.

Edit: Do you find that the items drop off the named mobs or is it completely random?

You are not likely to get great finds every run in the pit.... the number of uniques that you'll find will be the same as you would get in killing the same number of monsters/bosses elsewhere. Boosting your Magic Find percentage will help quite a bit up to about 300%, after which the boost to finding uniques is very slim. However, the advantage to running the pits is that it is an easy area, with no physical immunes(besides occasional stone-skin bosses), lots of unique monsters and champion packs, and the ability to drop every item in the game.

The bosses and their minions, as well as champion packs can drop from treasure class 87, which is the highest treasure class. They can drop any unique item in the game, though they can't get a couple of the elemental modifyers for magic items, like the high elemental damage charms. These require a higher monster level to drop, and I think are pretty much limited to just hell diablo and baal drops. The normal monsters in the pit can drop most of the items, everything in treasure class 85 and below. I usually use d2data.net to see what items are in what treasure class, though I'm not sure if their listing has been completely updated for the 1.10 patch.

Usually a Pit run doesn't have anything usefull other than flawless gems, full rejuvs and low runes. But sometimes some nice items drop:

I'm using a Clvl 91 PJ/LF Java with 440% MF

Since Pindle dropped ethereal 185/9 Titans (Upgraded straight away) the runs go much faster!

Best I've found is a 297% ED, 48% MF, near-perfect ethereal Cranebeak War Spike, your basic Godly weapon (Big damage, wicked speed, MF!) ;)
