First Ladder Char

OK, I'm building my first ladder character, but I have absolutely no gear. What should I make as a char that can survive and mf without any good gear? Thanks in advance.

Hammerdin or Skellimancer are good choices.

I never even thought about a skellimancer. I started one of those non-ladder and before I started tweeking him, he was still able to run extremely well. (Of course after the tweeking he was running baal, but that's not the point) That's a good idea. I'm trying a hammerdin, but without using skills, getting up to lvl 25 (about when he starts to hurt baddies) is requiring a lot of leeching, which I don't like to do. Oh well. Thx

IMO a Meteor/orb sorc would be the easiest by far. Don't need much good gear, and has massive damage. My meteor does 11K - 11K

I am new to ladder play has well i have made a Trapasin or what ever it's called is there another choice thats easy to work with? or could anyone help me with the basics? E-Mails are welcome thnx :drink:
