How Many Sockets Will Get?

I dont know if this is the right place to ost this but ive just found a rare mithical sword 339 ed 30 ias 37max damage + some other mods.
How many sockets will larzuk give?

Maybe someone can explain why the socket quest will only give 1, while rares can themselves spawn with 2. Is that the only way for it to get 2 ? Have it come that way?

the only way a rare can get 2 sockets is if it spawns that way yes. This is probably because one of the mods rolled for the rare is mechanics (or whatever the prefix for sockets is on a weapon).

Larzuk only gives one socket to uniques and rares to prevent over powered items (it would allowed legit bugged gazes i.e 2 sockets, and other things)

Yes..any white/ethereal item found from Act2 NM and forth get their max sockets at Larzuk..

Rares can only get one from the quest probably due to balance issue.
I mean, it's hard enough to get a 300%+ ED rare, much less spawn it with a socket (or two). I guess it's a way to not have a bunch of 400% ED rares with 2 sockets running around like .09 had CCBQ with 3 sockets.

but a CCBQ was a legit item usually transmuted in the cube with the fabled 3 chipped gem recipe. Imagine something like a Skullders with 4 sockets? Heh Yea... or a stormshield with 3... triple um runes pretty much take care of resis on their on

Excellent. Runeword fodder. If you find such an item in NM or Hell, and take it to normal to get socketed, will it get max sockets for the level it was found in, max sockets for Normal, or just one socket?

Difficulty doesn't matter for Larzuk, only Ilvl does (above Ilvl 40 =max sockets, Ilvl 40+will be guaranteed on items dropped from act2nm monsters or forth)

I think items from Act 1 NM Outer Cloister and onwards will also have guaranteed item level 40+

Yes thats correct, I just wrote Act2 because no one probably would go look for items to socket there anyway :), but to be more precise Ilvl40 are also found at Pit lvl2, Tower cellar lvl3-5, and then Outer and forth..
