View Full Version : Rune Master and WereWolf
I've recently aquired a Rune Master with 4 sockets. I'm thinking of using it until I can get my paws on a Schaeffer's Hammer. My problem is that I really don't know what to put into it.
My build is a Standard Werewolf build.
20 WW
20 Lycanthropy
20 Oak Sage
20 Fury

xx in carrion vineforget schaeffer's. it is extremely slow slow slow on werewolf. u're better off finding a 5 socket runemaster + all shaels or whatever it takes to hit the 5fpa breakpoint. with schaeffers...let's see what u'll be hitting at *does some research* 9 frames. now that is way too slow, even in pvm terms. u will notice that even with lower dmg weapons, as long as u can hit consistently and with good speed, u will bypass a slower, more powerful weapon, purely because with a faster weapon, u have more chances to hit.
edit: o my good lord. and i call myself an english major. grammar mistake city!

I have to tell you... Schaefer's is a Horrible Wolf Weapon. Way too Slow... Since OIAS doesn't work that well with a wolf, you can't speed it up much either.
Schaefer's best place is on a Pally or a Frenzy Barb. (Even Concentration if need be)
For the Ettin Axe:
Full Fury Attack Breakpoints
Frames % WIAS
19/11/11/11/11 0 %
18/10/10/10/10 1 %
17/10/10/10/10 2 %
16/10/10/10/10 6 %
16/9/9/9/9 7 %
15/9/9/9/9 11 %
14/8/8/8/8 16 %
13/8/8/8/8 23 %
12/7/7/7/7 30 %
11/7/7/7/7 37 %
10/6/6/6/6 46 %
9/6/6/6/6 57 %
9/5/5/5/5 69 %
8/5/5/5/5 84 %
The last one is just out of your range... I would aim for the 9/5 With Shael's... Not too expensive and if you're not using it forever, you won't lose much if you unsocket.
Speed is what makes or breaks a Wolf. The Rune Master has decent damage so even if you concentrate all your efforts into his attack speed, you won't suffer too much.
For a wolf, most of the IAS needed is found on the weapon or from the skill... So all the IAS on that chart would have to be on the weapon itself.
If you feel you Really need more Leech (Or something else), you could always reach for the 10/6 bp with 1 shael, 2 Ias Jewels and an Amn.

The scourge with static wouldn't be bad...
My lvl 90 HC Druid uses Schaeffer's (this one I'm making is SC, anyways...) and it works out wonderfully.
I'm sticking with Schaeffer's, and that's the end of that topic. Now...back to the main topic...Are Shaels the only choice for Runemaster?

If you don't like speed No...
Ed% jewels, Amn, Hel, Mal, Lo or maybe even an Eth rune.
