first barbarian for a long time, do not be rude
This is HC, so i can't afford 2 fury zerker axes, BotD and other goddies

i'm planing on charging frenzy , then attacking with concentrate with extra speed with a 2handed weapon for 3-4 sec, then 1 frenzy to reset the timer, then conc... always walking
defiance merc.

skills points
10 axe mastery (benefit both attacks)
1 increased speed
1 iron skin
9 natural resists
10 shout
1 taunt
20 battle order
1 battle command
1 leap attack
20 concentrate
1 berserk
9 frenzy
+ prereq

should be finished around lvl 80

1 question : can i stack BO with shout ?
if no, then the points in shouts will go in iron skill

frenzy : 2 shaeled blood war spike -10WSM
concentrate : glorious axe (range 4) 10WSM
with a fully charged frenzy, and 55IAS, i will attack at 11fpa with the glorious axe.

THE BIG QUESTION :
i will use a smoke elite armor for def + resists and resist charms to have max resists in hell. some FHR, some +AR charms.
is it viable in hell to play without 75% blocking ? (i won't rush in big packs ... this is not my first HC char)

if not, i may go mace/shield with a hit power legendary mallet for concentrate and 2 scourges on switch.

i'm waiting to start crafting ...

You could certainly try it, I just always thought blocking was kinda a requirement for HC. You'll have trouble with archers and ranged attackers without it, but maybe if you get good with using howl/taunt and all...

then i will try the 2H axe route
if i die, it's just some Pruby and low runes that will follow me in the tomb.

what about BO + shout ? does it works ?
for archers, i hope my def and taunt are enough.

20 BO and 20 shout are an excellent combination, and make you very hardy...it's just that enemies are a lot stronger and more accurate in general now, and there are several types that ignore defense, which is why blocking is usually suggested. I have a hard time with my 2-hand werewolf druid, and he has a good 6k life =/ Of course, he doesn't have howl and taunt to save his ***, which makes a lot of difference.

I've gotten a frenzier up to level 85 in HC ladder, so blocking isn't a must... though it certainly helps a lot. You're right about the ranged attackers - you must have an effective way of dealing with them or you'll be dead very quickly. Warcry is very effective (and my personal favorite), but costly in terms of skill points. Taunt, howl and grim ward are cheaper solutions.
