Real live corspe explosion?

I probably can't post the link, but go to BBC news and search for taiwan, whale.

Appearantly some scientists were trucking a dead whale to a research lab for testing, when the corpse exploded! Sent blood and guts everywhere.

I suspect that there was a necro hidden in the crowd!

what i would have payed to see the look on the scientists face when they opened up the truck and just saw a bunch of blood and guts splattered in the truck...... priceless i'm sure

Worse yet it was on a 17 metre, 50 tonne whale on a flatbed truck. I splattered all over the street.

On a similar note... I had a friend once who in Biology class jammed an Alka Seltzer tablet down the gullet of a frog that he was supposed to dissect... That ballooned up quite nicely... It didn't explode (prolly cuz of preserving agents) but that frog farted something feirce... Kinda sounded like those obnoxious horns you blow on New Year's Eve.....

Actually it is not uncommon for whales to blow up when they are dead. It is because of the gasses that form during decomposition. I have seen it happen twice. Pretty disgusting. It was really hard to eat my spaghetti afterwards.

It can happen to people too as far as I know. I don't think to the point of explosion, but left dead in a hot room your body blows up like a balloon.

Human bodies don't explode really well because most of us do not posses a blubber layer like a whale. It is that fat which hold the gasses in until the pressure becomes to great.

The investigation is under way.

Police are searching for a necromancer named XnoruasX as a party of interest in the case. XnoruasX is known for his use of high level CE in the elimination of his enemies. It is further reported that a golem and 17 skellitons were seen in the vicinity.

That TNT whale thing had nothing to do with science. IIRC a whale had beached istelf in a community near San Diego called Lajola (very high end, expensive community) and the stink was upsetting these "pillars of the community". The beach was fairly remote so truck access with difficult. They tried pulling it out to see, but it was too wedged on the sand..... ask any 5 year old how to get rid of something like that and you will get the same answer, "Shove a firecracker up its ***"

That's funny, I must not have been living in San Diego at that time, or I'd have heard about it. The city is La Jolla (pronounced la-hoya... it's totally spanish and stuff). It's a VERY high end city that also houses the University of California SD campus, and the Torrey Pines Marine Research Center... basically a great place to go if you want to be an oceanic biologist. I thought that the whale they blew up with TNT was on a beach here in Oregon.. South western part of the state, near Gold beach. ( I could be wrong)
