Teleporting down to baal, many the highlvls in Europe participated in the game, so I had good BO and my merc defiance merc was healthy. Teleported straight in to some death lords who almost killed me, but I had full rejuves so I managed it, for 2 sec cause I couldn't teleport. I was stuck in there and a sec later I was dead.

Act3 being long act I joined game call “travRun” and went straight to council. Get the way point. In return trying to help the party by ampdam the council, one of them was actually cold enhanced and General standing waaaaaaaaay tooooo close. When pally finish him with a bang, general dead.

Lesson 1 Put point in Vitality, it is hard core!!

Cause of Demise: I tried playing through Hell difficulty by myself. With only one element, and my barbarian mercenary to fend off cold immunes, it was slow going and very, very dangerous. I came to the realization that the only way I'd make it through was if I teleported my way through each act. This worked pretty well until near the end of act 2 when things started to get hairy. It didn't really make sense to me though. With positive resistances (30+), 600 life, max blocking, maxed TK and teleport, and 65% FCR, it should have been no problem, but the vipers in the hall of snakes nearly killed me several times over.

Despite some close calls, I made it to act 3 where I started teleporting through the Spider Jungle. I teleported into a pack of foul crows and they quickly had me chugging purples. I TP'd back to town to stock up again and headed back out. A couple screens later and some giant mosquitoes killed me. Latency was definately a factor; it was one of those games in which you hold down teleport and every couple of casts your character performs the animation, but doesn't move anywhere. Purples weren't responding either.

And this is how the second incarnation of Limefrost, my Orb sorcy, died.

Only item of note that was lost was an Oculus I'd somehow managed to find. Most of the rest of my gear was quasi-ghetto: 'Stealth' Light Plate, Magefists, Nat's Boots, Nagel and Manald, 20 Res Ammy, Tal's Mask, P Diamond Whitstan's, Tal's Belt. Only charm I'll miss was a 7% smfc.

Anyway, I'm gonna take a small break from D2 as I always do when a character of mine dies. I'll keep my mules refreshed for when I get back though. I still have a level 42 hammerdin I can pass the torch to...

Cause of Demise: I was feeling invincible really, with maxxed concentrate, BO, and about 15 shout, I was hardly getting hit. Crushing blow on my guillame's face was helping me kill monsters decently quick too. For whatever reason, i got ballsy and brave and tried to solo chaos sanctuary myself. I KNEW about Iron Maiden from the oblivion knights, but chose to go in anyways. Well, as I'm fighting a Venom Lord, sure enough, I get IM'd. One hit later, and my bulb drops from about 1300 life to less than 200. I was only using a Bloodletter, i didn't think i'd manage to hurt myself THAT BAD. So, i get scared, try to run back and pop a pot, but Venom Lord tags me and I die. Lost duriels shell, Guillame's face, whitsan's guard, IK Helm. =/. I will probally reroll another Conc barb once i get some more items, as I really enjoyed the survivability of the char

Cause of Demise: Ok, so I had just gotten into Hell difficulty the night before, and run into some very sticky situations. Since I was single elemental with a barb to kill immunes, things were very tough. So I decided to maybe level a bit more and find items by doing Diablo and Baal runs in nightmare.

The couple of times I had killed these two before I had very little trouble, so I got careless and was teleporting around like mad. I killed Diablo, and moved on to the worldstone keep. I remember thinking, "Maybe I should walk...it would be safer."

Ignoring my better judgement, my short stay in the keep went like this...

Teleport. Hrm...Soul killlers. I hate those. Teleport. Teleport. What aura is tha...Splat, deeds.

Turns out I had teleported into the middle of what I counted as 59 might-auraed, extra fast soul killers. I didn't even have a chance. I hate dying with 4 full rejuves in my belt...Arg.

Was wearing a breast plate with 2 P-Sapphires and a P-Ruby; generic rare rings with some resists; a very nice orb with +2 sorc skills, lightning resist and mana; Tearhaunch; Viscerataunt; and Tal Rasha's Adjudication. My merc was wielding The Vile Husk.

In fact, I was doing so much better at this stage in the game than I was with my sorceress that I was really quite excited about getting further in the game with my character. But then I ran into this one room and was immediately assailed by hoardes of undead stygian dolls. Pop, pop, pop they went to my hammers and mercenary and I knew I was dead at least two whole seconds before I saw the deeds screen.

Bad luck I guess.

well, i retired this nec a while when i finished the game with him. he was to be my "perfect necro" ie no str/energy points (because long term, i was planning to cube up to jah/ber). well, i had a very, very bad string of luck lately, the high point being a dead lvl 8 nec with my twinking gear that died due to aim -.-

yesterday, i decided, to hell with it. im not building any more chars. so off i went to pit and pit and pit with no luck. but i was fine with that.

today, angel msg me with this: "you ned shako? i got extra" (LOL, need was mispelled too! i lub u dejan). well, long story short, he donated (or as i call it, loaned) me a million things, highlights being a shako and a pnb skiller. so happy was i that i wanted to help him do a4-a5 hell. not like i cant do it (remember, this is a retired guardian)

a4 was fine. i dropped once, but no biggie. diablo died with a quickness, and it was off to a5. angel teled to ancs. we pressed the altar. out spawned 2 ci/amp,etc. reroll. out spawned 2ci/amp. we were doing fine, except for one thing. my comp decided to drop me, and i came back a ghost.

hmm, not im not really sure what to do. i know i can do it again (even with the extra requirement of no str). but now, i just dont have the confidence in myself, to defend that which was given, against the hoardes of monsters that diablo has summoned.

She had done all quests solo, in mostly multiplayer games- this was her self-imposed challenge. Cause of demise: I was mfing on Mephisto and earlier that day I had just found Tal's Armor. I was so happy and then that all came to an end 2 hours ago. I was teleporting through Durance of Hate 3 and I teleported into a group of monsters that amped me instantly and beat me to death in under 1 second. I had over 1400 life and good block.

Equipment lost: Tal's Armour (Ptopaz), Shako (Um), 34 HOTO, Mosers (2 PDiamond), 2x Raven Frost, 23% Mara's, 43 War Travs, 39 Chance Guard, Arachnid Mesh.

Psychological Impact: Very bad. When I died time just paused. It was my best equipment I had so far and nothing on my mules even comes close. For 5 minutes I almost cried out of frustration. I just figure I will have to continue and not let this do me too much damage.

Lessons Learned: Never, and I do mean NEVER, believe you can survive everything. Unfortunately for me I hit ESC as soon as I died which didn't let me see what killed me. I was going to ESC + Save and exit but I didn't get that far. 1400+ life for a sorc is pretty good and I had maxed resistances in hell.

I was happily poking at Raddy while my valk tanked and my friend shot lightning at him - I was healing frequently as the psn was whittling away at me fairly quickly (I had like 54 psn res and man o man that was some good poison!) Cause of demise: Who'd thought the legendary Korlic, thrower of throwing axes(or is another Ancient)would die to blood lords in Mephisto's 3rd Durance?? I was low on Fire resist (20%) and though I had all but the headpiece of sigons on with the Eye of elitch (7LL), and dual life/mana steal rings (3LL/4ML), I was no match for the 6-10 blood lords that managed to spawn on players 8. I had some moderate difficulty beforehand facing the first high council cronie upon getting near the moat. Instead of taking the left side per tradition, I decided Korlic and Emilio (Blessed Aim merc-22) was brave and would face the monsterd on the RIGHT. Well with 2 beers downed by your's truly, I sauntered on over to the left, realizing that Eventually I would face greater difficulty with Fire (since my other two were 40+ res). Once I saw the blood lords I kicked on the frenzy to bit them and double swing to hit faster and eventually run before they spam metors.. Well I forgot about 5 fireballs hitting me simultaneously, not to mention several meteors. Let's just say the two brave heroes died very warm.
Will I rebuild? Not for awhile, seeing it was single player (off realm players 8), and up until that point I was getting pretty far.

Finally one time round I can kill him, cold/fire enchanted with freeze aura. He was almost dead and he had just killed my shadow master and merc, I thought no problem just run around until my LS finish him off. The aura slows me down.. he catches up.. and as he dies..so do I.

I was doing some baal runs with some mates. It had been a pretty bad day alrady, 3 guys had died already and 2 of them had lost enigmas and what not. I was lagging like a ***** and in hindsight I should have quit and waited for it to not be so laggy. I took a tp to WSK lvl 2 and was hit by a swarm of dolls and gloams. I hit 1 rejuv then was about to save + exit, but then I thought what's the point really so I just watched her die. Lost shako, 7 trap charms, 16/16/8 anni, ber and sur in stash, awesome rare +2 trap skills ammy and other stuff I can't remember or don't really care about any more. I think I've had enough of this game now so I'd like to thank all the guys who helped me with her; cith, matt, josh, stu, dylan, gordo, and everyone else. She will be sorely missed. Now being of the "f*** it lets give it a go" mentality I confidently took on the fanatical one and set to work. With her 75% block 1.1k life (without bo) and numerous points in dodge and all that cr*p, ol hephasto was probably laying the smack down on me once maybe every 8 swings, which I could handle as it was taking off about a 1/3 of my life. 1 Juvey later and im back on track. Cause of demise: I was doing baalruns to kill time in public games, and maybe was a bit numb on the feeling of safety. The last time anyone tried to PK me was in Normal. So there I was, slamming traps at Ventar and suddenly someone hostiles and BOOM I'm dead. It took less than half a second. I tried to exit the game but saw the deeds screen just when clicking Save & Exit game. Never knew what struck me. By the sound it must have been a corpse explosion, although that might have been caused by my traps. Not a big loss, the only "good" items were bartucs and high nagelring. BTW this was my first char and I was just about to go solo cow runs to do MF. I fortunately had saved some of the stuff she had found earlier to a mule (saracens, masteries sk, lum and other) and I'm thinking of trying a mf-Baba for a change.

Needless to say, Amp + multiple lightning bolts don't help much in case of multiple bone doll explosions, which tend to cut through your elemental armor anyways. I think there were 3 of the little buggers...

I was in a game where we were questing a1. we had a party of 5 people, and after getting through den, blood raven, and getting through to dark wood. a high level zon joins and asks someone in our party (who was her friend apparently) if we needed rush. we all said no, but someone invited her anyway. i didnt notice she was part of our party. Due to finding good claws, i was the one killing most and hit lvl 9 first. the minute i hit lvl 9, the zon runs behind me, fires a few rounds, and turns on tppk. by far, this assassin of mine has had the shortest life span of all my HC chars.

I figured I'd get the skill point from Radamanent before going to sleep, he was cursed and I used all 4 of my juves killing him. Well, I was happily running Baal with my friends. The second wave of Baal's Minions (Achmel & co) decided to resurrect some previously-killed dolls in the throne. Luckily, I was either Amped or Decrepified, but I frozen orbed one doll next to me, losing way over 1700 health instantly. Oh, don't forget my 16-telekinesis 61 %-absorb 1000-mana Energy Shield, which was completely drained.

I'd make a rebuild of this, but I am not sure if I have the will to do it anymore. Perhaps I will gain freedom of Diablo 2... a bit tough of a goal but hopeful :)

Cause of demise: I was doing my ordinary andy run, then took on some Arachs in Catacombs level 2. The pack leader was cursed, of course, and they got my 2100 health pretty low pretty fast. I usually keep my full juvies @ slot1, but must have ran out cos now they were at slot 3. So kept jugging reds and wondering why doesn't the health go full, then one whirlwind out of the pack, deeds. My bad. Didn't lose anything valuable, except for 19/246 raven frost and 39% gheeds. BTW I had leveled and quested this one solo from the beginning, as the merc too. Next a dual elementalist sorc -> :)

Ya...i was making a new char and had this old char when i noticed he still had a gidbin quest to complete in hell. i have gotten some pretty nice rare rings from this before, so i decided to see if i could get a nice fcr ring for my upcomming sorc. i went to do the quest only to see i had no wps. i had some good hp and dmg reduced so i took my chances and decided to run it.I was just getting near the gidbin when i ran into a dead end.Unfortunatley i had a large amount of champion monsters chasing me for a long time and never had the chance to get a wp. so i was left with the decision to either exit, because i would have to run back through the horde of monsters(because i was at a dead end). being stooopid, i pressed my luck and ran back. i got stuck in a group of champion monsters all with fantasim. it was right there and then that i knew i was in way over my head. i pressed my esc button, went to click 'save and exit' when i made my fatal mistake, i clicked 'options'. the next second i heard my sweet sweet druid make that awful sound of dying. i slapped myself around a bit, exited, and went to bed, only to start it all over again the next day.

I had met up with a bunch of fantastic people, and we had worked our way up from the beggining of act 1, all the way to act 4. We lost 2 along the way, and I looted one of their corpses and returned the stuff they wanted before I died myself. We we're about the open the final seal for Ventar in the Arcane Sanctuary, when I ran ahead, only 2 oblivion knights infront of me, I lag, for just a second, and die horribly. It turns out my nortan anti-virus decided to scan my system, and thats what got me.

I made a couple mistakes with her, but I will rebuild her. I have the technology.

Cause of demise: Having happily waltzed through several other acts of HC Hell I decided to try my first Pit run. BAD idea, about as bad as the survey team deciding to explore the pyramid in "Alien vs. Predator" (with about the same outcome). D2 1.10 is just ridiculous; every so often you run into insane boss packs like the one that took out (a.) an A2 Defiance merc with over 8K def; (b.) 15 skellies, each with 800+ life and huge def.; (c.) a fairly good fire golem and (c.) me (only ~680 life but 75+ resists to all) in LESS THAN 3 SECONDS after stepping off the stairs from the Tamoe Highland to the Pit. (Note: They did this after having been Decrepified by yours truly, as well.)

there were at least three (3) boss archer thingies waiting for me the second I showed up; one of them (off the screen in the .jpg) had Might, at least one Amped me and the rest I have no idea about. I tried to run up the stairs but one of them had somehow teleported (???) behind me and stopped me from exiting. Should have Alt-F4ed but was too stunned to react (might have been the extra strength Tylenols I was on from my latest head cold)...

I dunno what to do, maybe I will rebuild when ladder resets, but can't understand what if anything I did wrong. Maybe I should never go into dark, narrow places? But then what kind of a Necro would I be... ?

Had his life down to 25% but merc and 7 skellies were dead so I decided to tp out and rebuild army. I had 150% MF from topazed armor, helm, chance guards and rare boots but resists were absolutely horrible. I decrep him as I approach with army in tow and as I pause to summon Clay golm on him, he lets loose with his devistating pink lightening and I die in 1/4 second flat. Hadn't even muled some of the set/uniques he found for me. Next time, TP right next to him so when I return, I am already on top of him. I knew better than that.

Cause of demise: One of those "I don't knows". I'd cleared about half the plains when I came across a boss pack of those corrupted spitters. The Valk went down so I beat a retreat while recasting her. I made it around a canyon but a minion follows me. I don't think much of it, lay out a strafe volly, the minion hits me, deeds. 1091 life to zero in an instant.He didn't even spit on me! I didn't get a clear look the boss's mods but I think lag was the real issue. There was no aura and the minion seemed to tele towards me.

Parma was a blast. She was in some ways more fun than my Witchyzon from season1. She had a balanced attack, imagine that :D She will rise again.

was baaling with a group of people. i really dislike how the tele'r, even after putting up a relatively safe tp, is still forced to clear the entire throne room before leechers take it. so for the last few runs i would be the first to enter the tp, and help clear the throne. the 5th or so run, there were a few too many gloams, and i didnt exactly prepare for gloams when i made that sork (i have my very own private teleporter-his name is salad. i just have to kill witches/ghoul lords/spawn 2 skeletons).

what really bothers me is that, afaik ALL the other peeps in that game wore some kind of cta/engima/etc. and none of them helped our teleporter (a light sork on my f list).

oh well, i am very bad at sorks anyway :D

Lag,lag and lag again. she had already killed one ancient, the other two would have soon been dead aswell. but.. i had a lag spike, game seemed to go backwards for a second, next thing i knew, the two ancients were next to me, 3-4 hits and i was dead.
the build i had made with her was the best yet... not one monster or prime evil gave us a hard time.
i will rebuild her...but i doubt i will be untwinked next time.

Cause of demise: Was rushing a friend. I had just gotten a new fortitude for my merc, so i wanted to try it out, but while teleporting in the chaos sanc, my computer got really laggy and my fps was probably at like 2, well A bad time for that to happen was when I was in the middle of a pack of fanat + might knights. Oh well, At least I got loot.

Cause of demise:
As always I blame myself. Overconfidence. Below the stairs from level 1 to level 2 in the Durance of Hate, I found a large bunch of stun attacking, lightning immune Blunderbores and a Blunderbore boss. I went down the stairs, noticed my lightning traps had no effect at all, and went up the stairs again in a hurry. I decided to try killing them otherwise, e.g. with poison attacks. Went down the second time, noticed there were too many of them together to decently wipe them out one by one. Barely escaped alive and went up again. At that moment I thought it wise to leave that game: I couldn't get through them without some help of others. So I was ready to exit and just join up with another game. And then this irritating voice inside me said: "You are not going to accept defeat here. Let's try one more time."

The third series of stun attacks made Abranca unable to move and reach the stairs for safety... Then I was too late to push the exit button...

A Wolf druid wanted to duel, and duel we did, the first time he gobbled down a few juvies, after that the duel was essentially over, we were both in town. Then my blunder occured, I choose to unhostile him, seeing as i was done dueling. He asked to go again, I agreed, expecting the outcome to be the same. At first I try to boneprison him, nothing occured and I blamed lag at first. I decided to use the wp, and go somewhere else to see if I could use BP on a monster. He somehow managed to guess where I was, I kept on trying to BP and decrep him, yet nothing happened, then I saw the error of my ways, I did not re-hostile him. Well, I'm sure you can guess what happened soon after.

Sometimes you just get hurt. I was walking past the central plaza altar, and my gang was hanging back, as they frequently do. Turns out a skeleton has more brains than I, because I be-bopped into what turned out to be a ring of around 8 Heirophants, all of whom hit me with blizzard about the same time. I actually managed to pop a big juvie, but the fact that I had forgotten to put on my Ravenfrost and was at big negative resistances meant I was ice cubes no matter what.

The sad part about it was that I lost my stash, containing Trang helm, belt, and glove, plus the Ravenfrost, and a buttload of SMFC's.

The good part is that this morning I heard about 1.11! So easy come, easy go.
