WWI Teaser Image

With the WWI approaching, Blizzard has posted a teaser image on their main site. No word on what it’s promoting; the next WoW expansion? Starcraft II? Something else? Unfortunately for our hopes and dreams, it’s hard to see anything Diablo-esque about this “ice” image of what looks like cracked blue ice/stone/crystal, but let’s try hard anyway, shall we? Hell’s frozen over? The game really is set in Heaven, which is icy cold to contrast with the fiery hells?

Sure it looks like ice, heavily suggesting Wrath of the Lich King. But is saying that this might be part of the Worldstone (last cinematic in D2) that big of a stretch? Although the Worldstone was red in D2, but if you look closely there is a red glow behind the ice as well…

Also whats that circular symbol at mid left of the image?

Could someone explain the worldofwar.net link?  I don’t have an account there so I can’t see what is posted.  I don’t feel like registering just for this.

My hopes aren’t dashed yet.  Blizzard usually does a series of images.  This is the first.  We’ll see what comes next.

It would seem pretty odd to me if they were just teasing the lich king again.  Didn’t we already get teased about that?  We already know it exists.  What would be the big deal there?

Hmmm that’s fairly convincing.  Though I’m still not sold.  The one leading up to SC2 was about all their previous games and then finally SC2.  Maybe they’re going to tease us with lich king and starcraft 2 images and then on the day of the announcement slam us with D3.

lol can no one see that its a face when you look at the picture on the left that symbol is the eye
