I agree with everything he said. I also wasn’t part of the oh it’s too colorful fanclub so I’m happy this doesn’t apply to me. But yeah really, it does make the few that that say it’s too colorful sound like a bunch of nerdy fanboys that are being real selfish about it. I mean seriously, get over it.

I, as well, will agree with the majority of what Adam said (although it took about 2 minutes too long to express his viewpoints).  I will agree that D3 looks less dark than it’s predecessors, but the fact remains, that we have seen very little of the actual game.  To pass judgment now is like saying a Lamborghini Gallardo sucks because it is painted yellow.  I am more interested in gameplay than graphics (how many D2-clones have we seen that look better, but play worse).

Unfortunately, it appears on most forums (this one included), that we as a whole tend to be sheep.  If one hardcore fan complains about something (however stupid it may be), most feel compelled to jump on the bandwagon, or them themselves be deemed not a true "fan" of the game.

I can see what he’s trying to say, and it’s nothing new really. I mean.. you see the same stuff he said in threads all the time.

But anyway, I don’t see anything wrong with having an opinion on the state of the game. It’s all about how you express it. If you complain and whinge like it’s the end of the world, you’ve got a serious problem. But if people didn’t discuss their opinions on particular subjects then forums wouldn’t exist.

The only reason people do it is because they care so much about the franchise. And again, it’s all about how you deliver your argument.

Yes, I do agree with people who say the current art design does not deserve an "art controversy"...

The point Adam misses is that FANS of the Diablo series have PLAYED all the games of that series ad nauseum (albeit only 2 games and 2 expansions) and as such have a love for the series that transcends mere money that only a hardcore player obtains.  This is what the heart of being a PC gamer is: being very passionate about those things that make the game special and enjoyable for you. Its called FAN BASE OPINION and these are the CUSTOMERS that Blizzard had better please who buy their games.  So forgive us ADAM for giving our opinions on something we feel strongly about.  MOOD is VERY important to some players of PC GAMES!!! I am tired of people like Adam diminishing a) our right to speak out about what we like and don’t like b) our right to express that opinion to developers in an peaceable manner to try and encourage change and c) not recognizing that we too may have some valid points. 

At the same time, it IS Blizzard’s game to do what they want with it, so that comment about whining and us having no right to complain is really insulting and degrading to the intelligence of those who play the Diablo series.  I’d like ADAM to answer for us whether or not HE has even played Diablo or Diablo 2 and beaten the game(s). I’ll bet he hasn’t, which makes him a complete hypocrite about whether or not mood and other game mechanics being absent are important to the series.  How can you decry someone’s points based on an experience you yourself haven’t experienced?  It’s like reviewing a PC game you’ve never played.  Somehow, I get that feeling that Adam falls into that category.  The sad thing is, he isn’t the only hypocrite out there…..

Woah, people actually watch G4?

Adam Sessler is highly intelligent and has always put forth very compelling arguments about video games. I agree with every word he said. He’s probably the only person in the entire G4 network who really KNOWS about games.

Oh, to that end, the title of this news article couldn’t possibly be more ridiculous. G4 hates their audience? Please.

Is this a normal series on F4? I know basic reporting standards don’t really transfer to broadcasting for video games, but this seems more like a 3 minute venting session than anything else. Instead of staying detached like the wise people at Blizzard, we get this guy ranting and throwing around words like "proto-fascists." I find myself watching the space shooter in the background more than anything else.
