@Diablo on Hardcore and End Game

Posted 28 September 2010by Flux

In addition to Monday’s tweets on skills and items, @Diablo coughed up a few others, touching on DiabloWikiHardcore and DiabloWikiend game variety, and the beta test.

Will DiabloWikihardcore characters be more powerful than normal?—Spectrusv

No intent, no. But they’ll definitely have more prestige and flashy things to show off for being so awesome.—Diablo

hat is being done to make D3’s DiabloWikicombat system deeper? There are only so many stats you can manipulate. HP, DiabloWikiresources, res, DiabloWikicrits…—Grug16

Layering DiabloWikimonster roles is one. Mixing enemies with specific roles together to create more interesting combat.—Diablo

What’s the reasoning behind aiming for chars to be ~60 after completing hell? Want to get rid of xp grind post “completion”?—Drbuttox

It affected player power in un-fun ways. We think there are more fun ways to pull off end-game.—Diablo

The DiabloWikibeta test question picks up from a previous tweet. I’ll quote the whole thing, since it’s ever so much more entertaining when read in context and sequence.

So is diablo 3 going to have a beta I’m going to take a no reply as a yes—DrHighlen

Replying. What do you think now!?!? —Diablo

yes you are having a beta because you knew if you didn’t reply it would mean yes so you had to reply with out truly replying.—DrHighlen

My head hurts.—Diablo

As a clever commenter pointed out last time, we should all oppose a DiabloWikiDiablo 3 Beta test, since World of Warcraft has beta tests. As all loyal old time Diablo fans know, anything done in the most successful computer RPG in human history is automatically bad, and should therefore be excluded from Diablo III.
