Diablo III Logo Wins 2009 MI6 Awards

Blizzard Entertainment won various awards at the MI6 Conference & Awards held at the San Francisco Grand Hyatt last night. The Diablo 3 Animated Logo won the Best Product Logo Design Award.

The marketing of Wrath of the Lich King was highly rewarded and admired by the awards team too, sweeping most of the other awards.  The Wrath of the Lich King expansion continues to sell and to top the NPD Sales Charts March 22-28 with a # 1 position, followed by the WoW: BattleChest on fourth place and World of Warcraft on the eighth place. MI6 ‘09: Mastering The Momentum

Approximately 300 top industry marketing executives attended panel discussions and keynote addresses that spoke directly to attendees business needs. The conference was followed by a lively awards celebration to honor the video game industry’s best marketing achievements, capping another informative and insightful MI6 Conference. Host Rob Corddry (“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” “What Happens in Vegas”) fed the crowd a steady diet of zingers as the best and brightest in the gaming industry took home Gold and Silver Muses.

Congrats Blizzard’s marketing team, they netted a good few awards there. As a gamer I don’t really look to this aspect of things, just the end product that interests me.  Best online ad campaign went to Tomb Raider Underworld - can’t say I recall it.

What’s a Chotchkle?  There’s a category for best of one of those. chkle is chuckle abbreviated?

It is amazing that a game that hasn’t even shipped has gotten an award.  That diablo III logo animation is certainly unconventional.
