Diablo 3 on Store Shelves?

Okay, that’s a bit of misleading title. But not really, since as you can see in this photo posted by Blascid, Blizzard is putting Diablo 3 on store shelves already. Sure, it’s just a picture to raise brand awareness well in advance of the actual game release, but this is certainly sooner than I thought we’d see any sign of Diablo 3 in an actual brick and mortar store.

Not concerned, 2011 is too far away for me to be excited about Diablo 3 yet.

I would be gobsmacked if this game is out in 2011 I suspect 2012.

Next year around this time you will have the last class revealed - demo at blizzcon will be around the new act they have put together.

I suspect another year of content creation - in tune with first expansion which at that stage will be in co-development.
That takes us through to Summer 2011.
Then probably a year to do balancing, tweaking with PvP and PvM and Battle.net - you need to take into account any major rewrites or wholesale changes. If my money was on the line I would put it coming out either before or after the London 2012 olympics.

2012 for a directX9 game would be fun - My 32nm Intel processor would be getting old then!

nah, i’m with 2011. new class will be revealed way before next year’s blizzcon.

How cruel of you flux, its just an art Probably has little to do with anything related to the release date.

*sigh* Blizzard do things way ahead of when they should do. The announcement of Diablo 3 was just painfully long before its release. Certainly its out of question for 2009 but I still have some hope for 2010 if they do things right. Even if they said that SC2 and Cataclism are their major releases for 2010, maybe if everything goes fine, we could have D3 as well.
