Diablo 3 Beta Patch 6 Notes
Posted 18 November 2011 by EllyDiablo 3 Beta Patch 6 is 251mb in size and will go live in about 8 hours. It adds some interesting new elements to the beta as well as reworking a fair chunk of the
Monk‘s skills.

I’m looking forward to seeing what
Achievements have made it in to these early stages of the game and then earning them before Flux does.
Also, there will be a full character wipe for the following reason.
We apologize for the late notice, we like to give notice at least a week before we wipe characters, but this decision wasn’t made until just a few moments ago due to finding specific testing gaps and issues we believe would occur if we do not wipe characters.
We appreciate your understanding, and thank you for your continued help in testing Diablo III.
Thanks to Diablolico x64 for the tip.

So yeah, player profile, achievements…totally called it.
I’d like to see what achievements they’ve made available. If there is a list anywhere, please let me know
We’ll know once the patch is live and people can dig into it. Shouldn’t be too long, now.
same
I want to know why they made Lethal Decoy 1 second. Now it won’t distract any monsters and essentially becomes a straight up nova with a delay.
Yup, that’s lame. It was probably overused in Inferno or something. I can see how a 5sec distract can be totally overly good.
Anyone knows what does affixes did?
Yeah, 5 sec crowd control was probably a little excessive.
5 seconds is excessive huh? Is that why they increased the Blinding Flash blind effect to 5 seconds?
1 second on the distract indeed sounds weak and pointless now…
Maybe a rune will increase the time?
The one second delay on lethal decoy was surprising, but now that I think about it, it just gives the eventual runestone effects more options for diversity.
So, what does the Beacon of Ytar passive do for Lashing Tail Kick now? Will it just be the other 2 skills? If so it’s a waste of a passive. I had a build that used the BoY passive to spam LTK and gain health from Transcendence but now they’ve kinda screwed that up.
I hope they’ll come up with something a bit more interesting then just removing LTK from Beacon, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Datamining suggests Beacon of Ytar was removed completely.
I seriously hope not… I wanted it for some SSS spam…
Surprised no ones commented on the monster affixes. Die Together in particular sounds really interesting and quite different from D2. I’m assuming Powerful was just ‘extra strong’ and Ghostly was ‘stone skin’ or something similar.
Wonder why they removed them completely. Makes me wonder if it was some sort of “its too hard for noobs to understand what these affixes mean” thing, because Molten and Ice (or whatever it’s called) are quite obvious what they do. I would have thought the correct response to that would be to make them Nightmare+ affixes only.
Was ‘Die together’ some sort of suicide thing?
A pack of monsters led by the unique with the ‘die together’ attribute could only be brought down to 1 health as long as the unique monster was still alive. I think…
A superunique and their minions would share a single HP pool. So if there were 5 in the group, then doing 100 damage to 1 of them would instead be converted to 20 damage to each of them.
I was wondering about this too. “Die Together” sounds cool, and the other two sound like basic affixes that you would expect based on D2 for sure…
I really don’t understand all the fuss. Beta is here just to test the servers and bnet infrastructure…
Sure, that’s what Blizzard say… but does it look like it? Accept the fact, they lie.
Another big set of changes for the monk. Just wanted to note that the last patch had around 7-8 changes for the monk list yet contained over 80 changes in total to monk skills. Would not be surprised if other classes got some changes that didn’t get listed here.
Looking at the change to Lethal Decoy and taking into account Jay Wilson’s recent comment that they wanted to give the monk a new aoe damage bomb that was like the old Circle of Wrath’s damage component, I wonder if they decided to just change Lethal Decoy to that sort of skill instead of what it was… hence why it only lasts 1 second and does much more damage and summons on top of the monk instead of where you are aiming… basically it’s now a holy nova with a tiny side bonus…
