As a follow up to our news yesterday of the PCGamer teaser, Shacknews contacted Blizzard for a comment which read:
Update: ‘‘We definitely appreciate that the community has a lot of interest in seeing the Diablo series continue, and we certainly share that desire’‘, a Blizzard representative told Shacknews when reached for comment.
’‘For now, though, our focus remains on StarCraft II and Wrath of the Lich King. I’m afraid I don’t have any new plans to announce at this time.’’
Even with Bill Roper no longer keeping the sniffers at bay, they still do an admirable job at dousing the flames of rumours. They’re masters of the ‘‘What, who us? No, never.’’ and it’s difficult to tell the genuine ‘‘No’’ from the smoke screen without being able to see the twitch of an eye or touch of the nose to betray them.
This is exactly what they’d say if they were hiding an imminent announcement (and exclusive deal with a mag) and exactly what they’d say if they weren’t. Go figure.
