Bashiok on Bald Fallen

Posted 28th May 2009 10:45 PM by Flux

A sharp-eyed fan pointed out that the D3 Fallen were bald; a change from D2, when they sported greasy-looking ponytails and top knots. Bashiok sayeth:

Blizzard Quote:

Bashiok: Do you want a lore reason or an actual reason?

After the deaths of the Fallen champions Bishibosh, Rakanishu, and Colenzo, the Fallen ceremoniously removed their top knots in their honor. Over the years the remembrance of the old heroes waned, new hair styles emerged, and the majority of the Fallen imps now sport mohawks which symbolize undivided unity and strength.

The real reason for any sort of change is purely artistic.

no way, you just made that up

Bashiok: All lore is just someone sitting around and making stuff up. Granted I’m not one of the writers for the game, and what I stated isn’t going to be held as canon, but there’s also the fact that it doesn’t matter why their hair styles changed.

But I think it’s as good a reason as any.

Lol, someone seems to think Diablo is a factual history of an alternative planet, or something.

Bashiok, once again, proves that he is the Bruce Lee of Moderators.

I just think it’s cool how fast Bashiok can roll those replies off his tongue. It’s funny to me that he has that skill. PERFECT skill for a community manager.

im all for lore myself, but…the hairstyles of fallen seriously dont matter, lol. in terms of lore, i only care about how the sin war trilogy will tie in to D3, whats up with the prime evils and the 7 lesser evils, etc. As long as they do those topics justice, i will be content with D3 lore-wise.

Hehe! smile Quite a remark for lore-fanatics. It’s the same thing with Harry Potter and especially Lord of the Rings. It all starts up in someone’s head and it’s never anything more than that. Well, of course people want to believe in it and it’s okay, but sometimes it goes a little overboard.
