How to not get pk’d in Diablo 3 Hardcore: Volume 3
Where there is a will, there is a PK. Hardcore is filled with challenges and the main objective is to avoid death. Normally that just means monsters, but unfortunately it also means your fellow players. As I’ve covered before , and before that, Players can exploit monsters to lead to your demise. The newest versions preys […]
One life to live: Prize for your Demise
Season 2 is only a matter of hours away. New characters are about to be born and in Hardcore it’s only a matter of time before they are taken away. As I mentioned in my last column, it’s with season two that we have a contest to coincide with your untimely departure from Sanctuary. For […]

Auction House Stress-Test Continues

Posted 23 Feb 2012 by

Beta news continues with more stress testing for both of the DiabloWikiauction houses. Make sure to post any bugs to ensure your DiabloWikibobby bucks won’t go missing upon the launch of the game. DiabloWikiBashiok posted the details as the following:

We’ll be placing extra strain on the beta auction house every day this week from 10:00 a.m. PST until approximately 2:00 p.m. PST, to put the system through its paces. This testing begins today and will continue through Friday, February 24. During this time there may be interruptions or loss in an ability to use the auction house. We’ll provide updates if there’s any extended downtime experienced or expected.

If you experience any issues when using the auction house during the stress test period please reply to this thread and report the issue including the date, time, and descriptive explanation of the issue encountered.

If you think of it this way, the more bugs that are found, documented, and addressed, the faster the game will hit shelves. I can only imagine that the Blizzard employees are hard at work getting all of the kinks out of the auction house to get the show on the road. What I’m curious about is how so many bugs actually have been found – I would have thought the experience and functionality of the WoW AH would have provided a sturdy foundation. I’m no brilliant coder, though, and assume the process is still very complex.
